looks like most of the large catches were either trolling the river in oshkosh or between the mouth to a mile or so out of the mouth of the river out into the lake , the west shore rock bite was junk and the east shore rock bite though conditions were perfect didnt produce the size .. and very hard to even get a limmit on the rocks anywhere although one east shore heavy hitter team did well on the rocks still 5 or 6 lbs a day off the pace. the mud for ten miles down the center of the lake didnt produce much either and fish stayed down, i wouldnt call it a mud bite at all it seems that everything is more than a few weeks late this year , more like a month with the high water in the upper lakes and rivers the big girls are comming down and out to the lake in small batches but with the water staying cool and high up river as long as there is food up there they will hang around for a wile.. the lake will still produce plenty of table fare in 13-15 inch fish but for the time being the river and mouth seem to hold the key to the heavy weights , still need 5 good bites though.

All of are fish came from 1 to 3 miles out in front of the river. There are nice fish being caught in the mud, you just need to find which particular bait they want that day. There doesn't seem to be any consistancy from day to day. Most fish I heard were being caught in that 8'-13' range pulling cranks.

Saturday #7 Clown Shad Wraps 8'-10' down at 1.8 to 1.9 mph seemed to be the ticket. Sunday there didn't seem to be any pattern to what they wanted. Perch colors, black and silver and clown all seemed to be working in that 8-10' range.

There's a nice article on Walleye Central of what we used and where.

Now that you have a pile of green in your hand you can probably break out and buy a nice pair of Polarized Glasses instead of borrowing mine...... I'm in the middle of writing up a rental invoice for them as we speak. I'll just walk down the street 3 houses and put it in your mailbox. Sound Good ? O
