| Anyone have any experience with the Merc Verado? Likes and dislikes? Any major problems? How do you like the smart guages? I am looking at two different boats, one has a 06 250 Verado and the other has a 07 225 Verado, would like a little feedback if anyone has any experience with them.. |

| Awesome motors.
And... an awesome system. Power steer, Digital shift and throttle. and finally, a four stroke that is HOT!!
The smart craft guages are super.
This is the most advanced engine & drive system out there.
They have been super reliable, too.

| When did the Gen II Verados come out? Might be better off with the '07 with the enhancements for better fuel usage, less friction, etc. I'm thinking about a Verado on my next boat.

| I had a Verado 250hp / 2005. It burned a little less than the 250 HPDI (Yamaha) I had had the year before.
The next year I went to a 275 Verado.
The 2006 / 275 Verado ..it burned less fuel than any of the previous years' 250s.
All the above were on Lund 2025 Pro-v IFS boats.
The L-6 Verados are fine on fuel. They turned the boost down on the super charger a little.. to get better fuel economy. The neat thing is they have power steering and digital shift and throttle, etc.
So nice to operate!!!!
The new 200 Verado is an L-4, not an L-6 ... and I have one.
It is really excellent on fuel economy. This is one of the new -reduced friction- engines.
