When I was a co with Dan Stier (or "chumley" as he liked to call me), we were jiggin the river. I caught about a dozen 10 to 12 inch catfish. Everytime I hooked up, I heard a "m-e-e-e-e-e-e-o-w-w-w-w" from the front of the boat. After the umpteenth one, we sat back and had some fried chicken.

Thanks for the flashback!

I'm pretty sure we saw one in Northern Michigan last month. We were driving down a dirt road out in the back woods. We saw a BIG kitty sitting on the side of the road, then it walked to the other side of the road and disappeared into the woods. We got within a few 100 feet of it. DEFINITELY had a long tail. Assumed it was a bobcat, which is the only cat we have in the state, besides the lynx. Then, I remembered they have short tails. When I got home, I looked up a pic of a bobcat and that definitely wasn't it. No markings like that at all. Looked at a pic of a cougar and that sure does look like it!

I saw a couple in the Southwest when a younger person. Never have seen one up here, though.
