This Spring in December does open up some other more rare opportuinities as some of my own more recent posts show. But basically it's a day to day thing wondering what type of weird weather we're going to get and rather you can safely take advantage of it. Like watching a guy take a very hard fall on his back and neck yesterday near the icy edge near the water at the launching ramp. So....I decided to jump back into an old habbit of making a few of my famous Spoon Harnesses for the spring/summer trolling season. Can't get into to much physical trouble at the dining room table. ![]() Attachments ---------------- ![]()

Member Posts: 141 Location: Oshkosh, WI | Thanks for sharing. Does anyone ever use trolling spoons on Winnebago? I tried them a few times last year, but honestelyl not for very long and not when the fish were really biting - so that wasn't a fair trial. Under what circumstances and at what speeds do folks use these in different bodies of water?

Modified them several times so they are now able to be trolled at speeds up to 3.5 MPH without spinning out like bladed harnesses do. I did this so I could run them along with crank baits if I wanted at faster trolling speeds. I also run them as sliders along with, above and slightly behind crankbaits. I use both live bait and Gulp 6 inch crawlers while using them, switching to the Gulp when the bite is the best. Spoons in general have been catching more and more walleyes on the Saginaw Bay these last few years. Edited by walleye express 12/14/2012 6:15 PM

Location: Wherever they're biting! | Great looking setups you have created. DYING for some walleye time - but unfortunately not near any for the winter... But making up some rigs like you've done is a great thing to do on the cruddy days. I've already started with the "dining room table habit" as you mentioned... Love it come dinnertime huh!? MOVE it all dear if you want to eat...! Edited by finseeker 12/15/2012 11:08 AM
