| Dave,
Take a bunch of bouncers up to the North end of Bago and run the different depths in the sand. You could probably put together a dandy chart for your fellow WFers.
Take care,

i generally run 1.5 to 2.5 oz. bouncers. my method is to spool out line till the bouncer touches, wait a couple of seconds and let out more line till it touches again. try to keep your line around a 45 degree angle. if your angle is more, add weight, if less take it off. this is a general rule that i use on erie. there isn't much structure there, so you may need to adjust to stay off weeds and rocks in your particular lake. also don't be afraid to experiment. on those flat calm, clear water days i may run a 1.5 oz bouncer off of a board 100 feet back to catch the shy ones. |

| many times on erie we troll spinners suspended. Spinners trolled in waves do not maintain a consistant depth but may fluctuate up to 10 feet either way. A good rule of thumb is seven or 8 feet per ounce at a 1.5 mile per hour clip per 100 feet. 2.5 miles per puts you at more or less 5 feet per 100 feet. Hope this helps. P.S. On erie in the spring we run bouncers anywhere from 1/2 oz. to three oz. but seldom faster than 2.0 otherwise they just spin on a straight plane and are much less effective. |
