| Sorry I didn't post earlier. Just wanted to give you a quick report on the opener on Lake of the Woods. To put it simply, slowwww. I did not hear of anyone who caught more than two or three fish, and stories of being skunked were more common, including myself on Sunday. Saturday was rainy, dreary, breezy. Fished hard from sunup to sundown. Five fish between three people, nothing over seventeen inches. We fished the west side of the lake, while the govenor was on the east side near the mouth of the Rainy River. As i understand it, the luck over there was no better. Hopfully we can string together a few seventy plus degree, sunny days to turn the fish on. Until then, I'll keep drowning bait, and dream of days to come. |
