Location: Neenah, WI | What's the situation around Winnebago and the upriver lakes? The reports I'm getting is that alot of shorelines aren't at their best right now due to the recent warm weather and rain. We pulled a Suburban from about 3 feet of water on Monday night by Blackbird Island. Use caution there. I also heard of a pickup having to be recovered near the Duck Inn on Poygan. If you have a report, I'm sure the spearers/anglers would appreciate a heads up. Our access at the Payne's Point Hook and Spear club is in pretty good shape right now. The bridge is 1.5 miles out and remains flat and stable. Let's all be careful. Remember that with the lack of snow that stopping distances are greatly increased. I nearly got creamed yesterday by a guy who couldn't stop. I was out of my truck and it seemed like slow motion watching him slide toward me. |

Hope the rain in the forecast doesn't do too much more damage to the shore, cracks are taking over by the access at stockbridge

Location: Menasha, WI | I noticed out from my house on the north end of 'Bago that the ice is receding quickly from the Fox River outlets despite the cooler temps this week. Although the temps have been cooperative, the angle and intensity of the sun is something to take into account. The ice can deteriorate rapidly.
If you venture out on the north end be VERY cautious. |
