| Trolled 4 hours on Horeshoe and the west end of Poygan, no Walleyes, 3 big female Whitebass full of spawn caught on #5 Shad Rap in Purple Essence 25 feet back on West end in 6 feet of water....
Saw quite a few tournament guys working the Lake... did not see any nets out.
Worked the mouth of the river for a couple of hours... 1/2 dozen small males...
Water temp 58 degrees on Lake and the small Lake flies are out already...
Soon the Walleyes will follow........ I hope...

| I'm going to try to get out tomorrow and see if I can pick up any fish in the river yet. Might try trolling Poygan a bit.
I doubt you'll see any nets from the pro's. You probably won't see a fish brought in, if you are close. These guys are pretty stealthy. |

| Spent most of the day on Poygan trolling.... zero.... not even a single hit.... did manage to pickup a few keepers jigging the mouth of the river
I think I'm going to wait another week before I go...back to Poygan. I fished, or should I say, the tournement guys fished close to me today and again, I did not see a net in the water....
Lots of boats on the water today and changing wind conditions made for a perfect afternoon.. but still no fish!

Location: Manitowoc, WI | Fished the Wolf From Red Banks all the way to the mouth and trolled Poygan today. 3 - 4 footers on Poygan in the afternoon, constant wind blowing pretty much the latter part of the day made for aggrevating boat control on the river. Did not see much action from anyone. Lots of pros out there frustrated as well. Talked to a couple of them that I know well and their reports were discouraging. Next weekends tourneys look to be promising. Water temps in the am were about 54 degrees and by the afternoon they were 58. Things should start picking up in a few days. Good luck to all the pros and can't wait til next weekends tourneys. |
