Ted Takasaki held on to his lead by weighing 30# of fish today, a day that saw lots of movement on the Pro and Co-Angler side.
Almost everyone brought good bags to the scale, and the techniques being used are all pretty much the same. The difference again was getting the big fish to come up and eat, with anglers talking about trolling spinner rigs and crawlers as little as 3 feet deep. 3-10 feet seemed to be the magic zone, but the zone changed throughout the day as clouds rolled through in the early morning and then again late in the afternoon, with some guys reporting catching 3-5 fish in the last hour and a half.
Bill Ortiz landed the biggest bag of the top 10 finishers with a weight of 33#-12oz.
Mark Schuitema weighed the heaviest limit of 35#-1 oz that netted him 24th place after starting the day in 78th.
Kristine Szczech jumped into the lead on the co-angler side, that is going to be a tight race with the top 4 places all within 3# of each other.
The Top Ten going into tomorrow......
PROS

7-John Schneider- 25-3,31-0,15-3 for 71#-6oz

10-Randy Reek-31-8,25-15,12-7 for69#14oz

Those twenty anglers will vie for the big money tomorrow, a day forecast to break heat records with highs in the mid 90's and little or no wind.
I'll get some day 3 photos up as soon as I get them loaded. I thought you would want to know who finished where in the competition to make the Top Ten.
Later,
Beav

Some pics of Ted T smiling like The Cheshire Cat and Kristine Szczech.
I'll post more pics later and will have the day 3 album for you to look at.
Some great shots today...if you like looking at big walleyes.

Location: Rhinelander
Ryan and Ortiz continue their great year, I see. This will be moving Bill into the Iron Man lead, I think! Good to see Ross Grothe making the cut, too. Ted is going to be tough to beat. Beav, great coverage, sir.

Thanks Steve, I'm doing my best.
Heading out for the launch in a little while.
Just listened to NOAA....SW winds 10-20, 95 for a high.
It'll be interesting to see what local boat traffic does to the bite.
People have been watching big fish being caught all week. Now they know that they are coming shallow on spinner rigs and where the pros have been. It will be interesting. The pros know how to fish among eachother. Add in some local competition, and the fishing could get tough.
We will see at 4 o'clock.
