| I have witnessed a small part of that collection and I was floored. I believe John was using the B&B boxes, which by the way are the best on the market. | |||

I told him something had to give because we were using a 10' dingy as a tackle box.I've only got about a 1000 cranks. Without johns crank problem I would probably be in need of some help.

Member Posts: 794 Location: Elgin, Illinois | Mannerino... "organized"... Nah, he has them hanging from his hat brim, sort of segregated by color... Pretty sizeable hat...... Also, I watched him darn near bled to death when he tried to remove his sunglasses real fast... Got a couple stuck in an artery... He says he does it that way cuz he likes to hear the little rattles... But, I think the things actually talk to him... I know he talks to them... Heard him say, many times; "why aren't you catching me a fish?"

Member Posts: 1188 Location: Chicago IL. | HAHAHAHAHA Yea trying to keep things in order is a task,,, more so after the tourney season ends and it time to get things in order for the spring. Big problem is I fish different river systems all times of the year, inland lakes all over and the great lakes.. Somewhere around the end of Feb., I start stuffing boxes again. Yea I have 12 B&B boxes and I dont know how many plano`s. Mark ,,You bought a bigger boat for as reason. When i`m not fishing a tourney with you you get 10 more mph!! Now you got that 10 back. Greg, Thats a good one hehehe.

Member Posts: 1195 Location: Orland Park, IL | yep, I seen that mannerino box. Just like hutchies box. I think its meant to be a distractor. "pick a crank, any crank". By the time you key in on one, the lid closes just like that. You walk away wondering "what did I just see". I think jerry has a stack of crank boxes that was taller than the 7yo, times 4 columns. rehab for quitters. .thats funny.

Member Posts: 15 | 6000?... I think anything over 1000 and you have serious problems! 6000 and you are just plain MESSED UP! I did a recount last night... I thought I had 270-280, turns out I have 335. I can honestly say I have used all but about 50 of them (most of those are backups) and I feel good about owning them all. I am sure I will buy more, but no way will it ever get close to 6000. Heck over the past month I sold about 100 in the classifieds and to friends of ones I dont use just to keep from buying more crank boxes to hold them. By the way... I use the "Special Mate" boxes... I have 3 and they work really well.

Member Posts: 1188 Location: Chicago IL. | I have had days on the rivers that only one color will work and it has to go out on 4 lines in a tourney. Do that with 75 different custom color patterns plus stock colors in different cranks and sizes and BOOM you got 6000. Yes there is no way to fish them all at once but I dont bring them all to each trip. All depends where i`m fishing.

Member Posts: 617 Location: Oshkosh, Wisconsin | To John and everyone else - this seems like an appropriate time and place to remind everyone of the importance of taking a few pictures of you tackle collection. Most insurance agents won't believe that a person can have a few hundred crank baits that total $2000, much less 6000 that $30,000 won't replace.

Member Posts: 1188 Location: Chicago IL. | I took pictures and did a video of all my gear and then sat down with my agent to make sure I was covered. You would not belive what a few dollars more buys you in coverage. I heard too many horror stories from people that been hit.

Member Posts: 1656 | Good point, Brad. Like John I took a seperate writer out on my tackle when I insured my boat. When I explained the value of the tackle in my boat on any given trip. My agent looked at me as if I was nuts. But it's covered. These insurance agencys don't have a clue on how much money some of us fishermen dump into our gear. Trying to explain that after the fact and you can see how difficult it would be to get covered. Edited by Jayman 1/10/2008 9:03 AM

Member Posts: 96 Location: DeForest, WI | That is a very good idea. I often wondered how many lakes I could fill up with my tears if I lost my gear. I might just have to swing into the agency, and see what he needs to hook me up. Hook get it. I must have had one to many coffees this AM.

Member Posts: 2300 Location: Berlin | Not the Hot-n-Tot, anything but the Hot-n-Tot. Speaking as a recovered addict, She can be a cruel lover. One thing I learned is: Hooks get rusty and dull, colors will fade and baits will stop running true no matter what you do to them but a full sized full color hot-n-tot chart tattooed on your back lasts forever. Good luck my friend.

Member Posts: 10 | Ya- Hot n Tot Once I got all the catalog colors, I find out there are Way more sp numbers than I could have ever thought. Then I got into the Japenese numbered tots, Making international deals from Tokoyo and such. But the further I get, The deeper it goes!! Come to find out there are South Korean, Poland, Aussie colors, German, The Neitherlands- On and On! There is no way to find out ANY info on these lures anymore. It keeps me up sometimes, wondering where the "next one" Is going to come from? I.ve tried different drugs over the years, But there not helping! Sure they keep me home some saturday mornings, but with e-bay there's always a bunch right there to be had. just click
