This is great news. I have a prior commitment before merc nationals that i would not have been able to make the rules meeting on time but now I will just have Jim hold a second meeting for a few of us that can't make it and we will be all set for the big tourney saturday morning!!! Oh yeah, forgot to mention my tardiness would be due to other tournament issues also.

As much crying that you do, you may want to consider adding a second bilge pump to your boat.

C'mon guys! It's not rocket science! I too have fished both in the past. I have also run into the same situation with 2 tourneys on the same weekend. One partner takes his boat and pre-fishes the MWS body of water and attends the rules meeting while the other partner takes his boat and pre-fishes the other body of water. Best of both worlds and you each get to fish with someone else who just may provide some valuable info for the tourney. Have fun and good luck.

I’ve watched this thread and have been hesitant to comment. I have donated to this tournament for double digit years as well. But, because of the date change I also have a conflict. The Cellcom Marathon is on Sunday the 20th and I wanted to run it in again and really make an attempt at a PR. Alas, I am not sure how I will be able to do that after a full day of fishing on Saturday as that should really be a pre-marathon rest day for me. I have checked the weekend schedule for the Marathon and I am confident that I can make the all-u-can eat spaghetti dinner late Saturday afternoon since chances are that I won’t have a limit of walleyes to weigh anyway. Because marathons are usually on Sundays and Walleye tournaments are on Saturdays, I am sure many of you have run in to this dilemma as well, if so how have you balanced the Walleye/Marathon weekends?

Just remember guys there has been a waiting list to fish the classic from past years, so if you miss this tounry chances are you will loose your priority, just a thought, hope to see you there.

Last year there wasn't a waiting list. The tourney filled about 2-3 weeks after the mail-in day.

I think Randy and Karl both have heard enough on this subject. Thanks to Randy for responding to questions. Have a good tournament this year and see you next year I hope

Here is the deal either you fish it or you don't, yes we will miss you and hopefully some other team will take your spot. If not we will only have 99 teams next year. I know i am going to make it and have a blast win or lose.

If we are allowed to post it we will do so in the next week or two. We usually do so a couple weeks before the entry is due. Entries are typically first due back in the second or third week of March. This will be spelled out in detail on the entry.

I'm just finishing the entry blank right now and it will be going to the printer today. Look for them to arrive in your mailbox the week of February 20th. I'll also be posting a pdf version of the entry here on Walleye First. I'll be starting a new posting to make it easier to find in this forum. Just a reminder...pay attention to the entry blank where it shows the earliest POSTMARK I will accept on the entries. Just make sure it gets postmarked on March 21st. I'll be collecting all entries over a period of time and sorting them by postmark, regardless when they finally arrive in my mailbox. Each postmarked day will be thrown in a hat and team numbers will be assigned.

If you fished the tournament last year you should be receiving an entry via mail. They will be mailed in the next couple days. We will also post it here. Entries will not be due until later in March.
