Richfish.

We've kicked this question around on other boards quit extensivley. And I'm not what you'd call an old veteran on this site, as I just joined about 5 weeks ago, (I think). Anyway, there will be some people who never join in, always just be viewers and never contrubute in any fasion. Lets face it we're all different, with either outgoing or introverted personalities. Big key, is making any new poster feel welcomed. Most of us started with a hook tied on a string attached to a stick, I know I did. It can be intimidating some times to jump in when your knowledge is limited.

Yes Dan is right. The regular posters can be intimidating.Just look at how many days you guys put in on the water. When i first started coming to this site I was a regular looker.I've gotten over the intimidation thing and gotten to fish with a few guys from this site.We all are here to learn a few things and enjoy coming here.Us average fisherman can contribute a few things too I think.Come on in all you guest's and join the fun. There are some very good people on this site.I've learned a ton of stuff from these guys. Thanks

What OutdoorsFIRST is building at WalleyeFIRST is parallel to what has been so successful at MuskieFIRST. What we hope for is even exchange of information. Some guests here know an awful lot about rivers (even have a jet boat kind of water expert onsite regularly), some about big lakes, some about small lakes. Some know trolling, some know cranks and casting, some are jig gurus. Some know reels inside and out, some rods. Some are boating experts, some are outboard mechanics. Some know live bait and some know boards, some lead core. Diversity! Some fish nearly every day just because they want to, others are competitive anglers who travel the country in search of walleyes and a win. Some have never seen a planer board or know how to connect lead core to monofilament. Others do this sort of thing every day during the season, and a few absolutely dedicated anglers like Sunshine never give up the boat all winter. Some guide for a living, and are delighted to speak with anyone about walleye fishing techniques they use every day to get their clients into a good bite.

Some who visit here are total newbies in search of good starting information.

Ask any question on the general message board that might need answering for you. Go ahead, the only bad question is the one that goes unasked. You can remain anonymous and get good answers, or register and join the community of anglers exchanging information on a 'first name' basis.

Either way, what OutdoorsFIRST wants more than anything else is for you all to be comfortable here. Someone here will have the answer you need, and will provide it straightforward. No bashing, no unproductive arguments, just good information and perhaps even some spirited debate. If I ask a question about a reel on MuskieFIRST, the answers come from folks who bought the reel in question at a local Gander or Sports shop, and they answer straight forward from personal experience. Just questions and answers from regular anglers, guides, tournament anglers, and weekend walleye warriors.

Soon we will be scheduling chats in the Seminar room, adding even MORE kick fanny walleye industry and tournament coverage and news, and technology advances Zach dreams up when he should be sleeping. I hope to learn alot here this year before I head to Wabigoon so I can find and catch some of the absolute PIGS that swim in that wonderful dirty water.

WalleyeFIRST offers competitive evnts and outings at whatever costs we can negotiate with resorts and hotels. Last year a MuskieFIRST group from all over the country went to Cave Run in Kentucky and Sabaskong Bay on Lake of the Woods. The total outing lodging costs were $160 per person for a week for on the Canada trip, and less for Kentucky. We shared information, marked maps, brought in local guides and Pros to answer questions in the evening, and generally had a really great time. Watch for WalleyeFIRSTOutings to be announced in the very near future. Already, the website Tournament is a hit, well run and alot of fun. I hope to share a boat with Shep again this year on Winnebago in that event.

Post some pictures in the WalleyeFIRST album, visit the boats and motors board, cruise the Daily News Trawler and the great articles there, watch the tournament news and WWR, contribute some info yourself, submit an article you have been kicking around for the articles section. Or just enjoy, whatever suits best!!

Glad to meet you!

heheh

I surf by 1st just about everyday, but seldom post ~ So that kinda means when the cookies get cleaned weekly I'm not logged in when I visit. I'm usually on the Ohio boards to keep tabs on the local info & visit with friends ... but I like to surf around the I-Net to pickup Crumbs n' Tidbits to twist into new sUMo methods to mess with on my home lake.

Later Gators!
