Location: Rhinelander | High winds and small craft advisories caused the cancellation of the first day of the Cabelas NWT. Sunday is the 'blow day', so Saturday is now 'Day One'. 130 Pros will have to find something to do today, which usually isn't a problem. Prefish was stellar. The Pros we interviewed, including Lund/Mercury Pro Mike Gofron, all said it would take 40 pound plus bags both days to make the top ten. 130 boats, a great representation of the top competitive walleye anglers in the country, and huge walleyes. This is good stuff. Attachments ---------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Location: Rhinelander | The forecast for the Port Clinton area looks much better as the field of 130 Pros and Co Anglers left the marina today. Most of the anglers are fairly certain the weather the last couple days will change the bite, but don't feel the fish will have moved enough to cause problems finding the hot bite that the pre-fish offered. There should be some monster bags coming in to the stage today. Predictions are at least middle 40# every day to make the top ten. The usual Erie tactics are in play, trolling spinners and cranks. Many Pros reported multiple 30" class fish during practice. Watch for a full report this afternoon following the weigh in. WalleyeFIRST coverage of the NWT is brought to you by Lund Boats and Mercury Marine! Attachments ---------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Location: Rhinelander | Wow. The big story, other than the superb weights, is the weather forecast tomorrow. Thunderstorms and accompanying high winds may be an issue, and as the front rolls through, winds in excess of 15 MPH out of the West could definitely effect those running long distances. Only time will tell! WalleyeFIRST NWT coverage is brought to you by Lund Boats and Mercury Outboards. Attachments ---------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
