Location: Mt Prospect, IL | You tie a short baited fishing line to a jug (milk carton, etc...) and throw it in your lake or river. Then you drift alongside them in your boat as the current or wind carries it. Typically used for catfish, but i guess it could work for other species as well. It's a southern thang. |

Location: Omro,Wi. | Wasn't just limmited to the south either, when I was a little fellow, back in the Fifty's, I remember my dad,and friends, would use a glass mason jar with a metal lid to catch fish on Bago. Drill a hole in the center of the lid,put in a rubber grommet,to pass the line thru, pull out whatever amout of line you need, and throw it out on a reef.As I remember it worked well and you could fish several spots at the same time.Sure hope it was legal then?.hafe |

| It's typically done for catfish with large numbers of jugs. Get 50 or so jugs, bait each with a worm or stinkbait, distribute around your pond, slough or backwater, come back in the morning with a boat and a cooler and see what is attached. Pretty a much a meat fishing technique which is why it is banned in WI.
