Launched at 10:00am this morning. Still lots of skim ice, but breaking it was not a big deal. Actually only got to fish clean for about 3 hours. Because as the skim ice disappeard, they gradually opened the Sanford Dam after being closed all weekend, and the thicker shelf ice started coming down. And I'm talking boat brusing stuff 4 to 6 inches thick. These floating pieces of concrete can cause some serious damage, if hitting your craft harder than at a drifting speed. But we did manage to go 4 for 6 in-between all the interruptions. I lost a real wall hanger behind the boat. Pictures as always.

looks like the same kind of day as when pat and i were up there. say, do they give you any warning when the raise the gates? the extra water flow may be of little consequence, but a lot of those low riding rafts that you see out there could get a rude, if not dangerous ride.

The Sanford Dam is a city run dam, believe it or not. They do have a schedule, but it's run more by what the run-off dictates. So some days are light flow, some others heavy.

My buddy who stopped in to see us Sunday limited out after he came back out by us after the shallow bite was no good. He fished just 150 yards North of us. He also took an 11 pounder and a 4 pounder last night same spot north of our Sunday position. Probably to late to help you for today.

Also seen yourt "Go-Devil" buddy up by the spillway yesterday. I don't think they were doing so good on that high water. And tell him they were parked right on/over the spot they should have been casting to.

Open water and snow; makes for some very cool pictures. Thanks for the report, sir.
