Location: Berlin | What is the largest big fish ever brought in during a tournament on this system? I seem to remember some in the upper 8's but none over 9lbs. Any of you old timers seen one bigger? With the conditions the way they are, I am thinking there may be some records falling this weekend. Too bad they are in the wrong area for me. Some day I am going to buy enough rocks to cover all the mud in the lake. |

Not sure if I qualify has an old timer, but I have been fishing the Otter Street tournament since 1986. I remember in the late eighties - early ninties when the guys started figuring out the mud bite and the gizzard shad had some really good hatches out there. On both Saturday and Sunday the big fish of the day was 9 pounds and a couple of ounces. They looked like twins - must of had the same mamma!!!
Wish I could remember the year, but that's about a gazillion beers ago  and the buffalo theory doesn't work on my brain cells any more - they are all slow  .
Maybe someone from the Otter Street Fishing Club might have some archived information on finishes and big fish payouts that go back that far.
