| On Sunday April 15, 2007 the Illinois Walleye Trail held its fourth Tournament on the Illinois River for the 2007 season. The Walleye Teams found the river had crested with a slow fall but water clarity still about 8 inches and surface temps in the high 40's. First place honors and the current point leaders in the Angler of the Year race was Tom Giachetto Jr. from Ladd Illinois and John Dalzot from Spring Valley Illinois. They weighed a limit of fish scaling 11.33 pounds earning 995.00. Tom and John also received the 100.00 Lund Bonus certificate compliments of Hennepin Marine as the first Lund Boat Owners in the money. Placing second from Lansing Illinois Dan Garapethien and Joe Goetz. Crown Point, Indiana with 9.30 pounds earning them 610.00. Third Place honors went to John Mannerino Chicago, Illinois and Mark Michael from Spring Valley with 8.78 pounds and 455.00. Big Fish Honors went to the team of Barney Barnhart, Fulton. Illinois and John Lipinski St. Charles Illinois with a 3.57 pound Sauger. Member Posts: 1195 Location: Orland Park, IL | Nice work by the mississippi mystic. Nice to be out. Fishing was terrible for us. Over 3 days, I got 2 saugers, one 5 inches,l 1 - 10 inches. That didnt help much. Live by the jig, die by the jig. PS. It wasnt a jig bite. | ||

| current was high and fast for jigging. we handlined and managed a few fish. guys did well pulling dubuque rigs and 3 ways. when jigging fails go to another method. we only saw a few guys jigging. i noticed on that river when it is high and fast teams abandon jigging. | |||
