Member Posts: 499 Location: Appleton | Congratulations and THANKS to all 108 teams that fished the MWS Oshkosh tournament. The weather threatened throughout the day but the severe storms missed Oshkosh. We had a few sprinkles durning the weigh in. The main option the teams were looking for was air conditioners for the boat. The bite was tough for most of the teams. The bite varied from team to team some had a morning bite while others had an afternoon bite and some caught fish all day. Many team stated they caught several nice Sauger while fishing the tournament and would like to have been able to weigh the saugers. Thirty six teams weighing a five fish limit. There was a total of 296 fish caught weighing a total of 626.26#. Most of the success came on crawler harnesses. Colors and location varied for the teams. The team of Jason Miller and Bill Van Ornum took first place with five fish weighing 16.66# winning them $4,500. Second place went to the team of Trevor Holzhueter and Troy Saunders with five fish totaling 15.02# for $2,300. Third place went to the team of Mike Bonow and Dave Knueppel with five fish weighing 14.90# for $1,200. Fourth place went to the team of John Clumpner and Scott Ristow with five fish totaling 12.42# for $950. Fifth place went to the team of Kurt Duxbury and Keith Ziemba with five fish weighing 12.32# for $850. Carl Rose and Gordy Rose had the big fish of the tournament weighing 5.36# winning them two plaques donated by All Sport and Trophy, a Diawa Line counter reel and rod donated by Marine General, an asst. of Ka Boom, and an asst. of Rapala Lures.
