The last month has been amazing over here on Lake Erie. The weather and waves have been mild enough to allow us access way more than normal. This month my Ranger has seen more than 80 walleyes over 8lbs, and more than a handful over 12lbs have made for some big smiles. Here are pictures of the monstrous 12 and 13lbers we caught yesterday. The walleyes have been hammering Reef Runner's on relatively short leads, but as the water has cooled longer leads on Ripsticks have been the ticket for giants. With these fish higher in the water column and slower speeds in the cooler water have been killer with normally just my Minn-Kota I-Pilot running. Hopefully they weather continues to cooperate and more big fish find their way into the net!

Steve, as long as the weather is not to rough the fall bite should be nothing short of amazing. However with the water getting close to ice up who know how much longer we are going to be able to go after these fall giants.

The fall fishing has been nothing short of phenomenal. I was fortunate enough to get over there for two incredible days of fishing on Nov. 11th and 12th, fishing with two friends who had been there all week. One would never believe such mild weather would happen in November for as many days in a row as there were that week. On my two days we had three man limits by noon Eastern time. We continued fishing for another hour each day to upgrade, tossing out a 5# (can you believe this?) and replacing it with an 8# or 9# walleye. I asked my friend if he had ever had a heavier three man limit in his boat compared to Friday's fish and he didn't think so. Our 18 fish went from 6# to 11#. Most awesome two days of walleye fishing I have ever experienced. Yes, sir!!!

Horeshoe, The bite was very good the first week of December. I got rid of my boat shortly after (new one is due in soon!) and finished my open water season by going with a friend the end of the second week of December. The last day out was brutal, tough bite, and breaking lots of ice just to get out. Take a peak at my bigwater page on facebook...lots of pics on there
