Member Posts: 2445 Location: Fremont, Wisconsin | You know what would be cool, gather all the winners together that won the 6 qualifiers, and have a championship with the 6 for some cool prize. Maybe Walleye first can get a boat or truck for the winner. LOL, but that would be fun.

Location: Rhinelander | Well, we will see today how the guys are doing out there. Reports have been that fishing is tough; I am betting SOMEONE will be on the fish. As with all tournaments, someone is going to win! New boat....hmmmm.. ![]()

Plenty of walleyes should arrive for the 3 p.m. weigh-in today at Voinovich Park in Cleveland Harbor, but many pro anglers report the Lake Erie walleye fishing has been anything but easy. Known for its plentiful fish and big walleyes, Lake Erie has been stingy this week. "We've found quite a few areas that seem to have plenty of fish to catch," said veteran pro Keith Kavajecz of Kaukauna, Wis. "Getting them to bite them is another matter. There are huge schools of bait fish out there for walleyes to eat and it's hard to compete with the real thing when you're running a lure through the water." Tournament anglers will have lots of water to fish during the PWT event. Tournaments waters cover a 60-mile swath of Lake Erie from Vermilion to Fairport Harbor. The northern boundary is the Ohio-Ontario border about 20 miles north of Cleveland. Each pro fisherman is assigned a different amateur angler each day of the tournament. The pro-am team will share the weight of a daily catch that is limited to five walleyes. While many pros would be happy with 25- to 30-pound limits of walleyes each day, Lake Erie has established itself as a record-setter for PWT tournaments. The tournament runs through Friday with daily 3 p.m. weigh-ins. The top pro fisherman wins $64,000, including a fully-rigged fishing boat. The winning amateur will tow home a $17,000 boat, motor and trailer. The awards ceremony on Friday begins at 6 p.m. The PWT will feature fishing exhibits, prizes and fishing stories at Voinovich Park each day of the tournament. Member Posts: 2445 Location: Fremont, Wisconsin | Just a clarification on the post Steve. I was suggesting we have the 6 winners from guess the winning weight play the pwt championship. No one else. Kind of championship of our own. If you allready knew this please disregard this post. LOL
