Looked at the E-Tec, it looks really good. Warranty is exceptional, and the company is confident enough in the technology they feel it will eventually be recognised as one of the best outboards ever built.

All things being equal I think I'm gonna go with the E-Tec based primarily on the 7 year warranty. Also, stats are saying that the E-Tec gets 40% better fuel economy than the HPDI (sounds a little optimistic). I'm 99% sure I'm going with the E-TEC, I haven't heard any nightmare stories yet.

Rob,
I think you will be happy; talked to the OEM rep today, and he recommended the 225HO, which he said is one HOT motor.

Steve, 225 HO would be an awesome motor but, unfortunately, cannot be had for this year. Production is all spoken for according to boat manufacturer.
