Location: Rhinelander | Mille Lacs Lake promises to provide a challenge from all aspects, including it's reputation for abusing boats, anglers and equipment and it's reputation for big walleyes. Weather today looks great with temps in the upper 70's to low 80's, with winds out on the Big Pond from the SE. Right now, as the boats are heading out, winds are from the South East at 5 MPH. There will be a line of storms moving through the area this late morning which may cause a bit of trouble. Watch for the WalleyeFIRST Live Leaderboard to fire up at about 5 PM tonight. This one is going to be interesting!

Location: Rhinelander | The weigh in was completed at about 6:15 PM, and the nearest high speed internet was Brainerd tonight, over an hour away. The PWT Super Pro on Mille Lacs Lake proved to be tough for most on Day One. The most influential variable is the slot; only two per team over 28", and the rest of a four fish limit under 20". Many of the pros came in with three fish. It wasn't hard to see why, with the desire to hold the slot open for a 28" plus fish, knowing that it could take at least one a day to win the event. Ron Seelhoff came in with TWO, and leads by 4# as a result. The weather was a factor today, but not because of storms; those all missed the big lake for the most part. Variable and continually changing winds were a factor, with some periods of dead calm. Watch for an update and Day two morning coverage mid morning tomorrow. Location: Rhinelander | Thanks for the lead on the wifi, W. It takes quite a long time to upload the raw images to our FTP for the front page, upload video, etc. so i need a good strong wireless at a hotel. I'll be in Garrison tomorrow and will save quite a bit of travel time.
