Forget the dam... When I drove by today the carnival had moved in and they had already set up the bumper boat rides... plus the landing will be solid ice the next three mornings... come join us from hole in the wall to Lansing. To be perfectly honest... perch were great today... but I really had to fight for the walleye and sauger today once the bright lights got turned on. It doesn't help that my fishfinder all of a sudden says every foot of the river is 58 feet deep.. last one lasted 15 years ...maybe I won't be so lucky this time?? Happy Hook-ups. Lawrence

Location: Chicago IL. | Yea im sure next weekend will be a ZOO at the ramp unless the higher water scares some off.Probaly will have to be there at 5am to get a spot. No difference than fishing the flats on the IL when the fish are there. At least you never have to worry about your watch not working,,,,plenty of people to let you know what time it is. 15 yrs old? did it have 50 pixels for the screen!!!! LOL I still got a old raytheon around that age. |

| Wow John how have you been.... no actually it was a Model 2000, (1993 not quite 15 years sorry),...the very first flasher that they made into a psuedo fishfinder.... signal was changed into a digital picture ... it was actually extremely accurate on the bottom huggers.
Before that I used my wife... I threw her in the water with an anchor tied to her neck with a slip knot...when the anchor hit the bottom I pulled the slipknot and timed how long it took her to get to the surface... then I asked her how many fish she saw. what kind, and what depth.... She learned very quickly not to fight the anchor and to never come up without an accurate fish report......or you got it she had to be thrown right back in.
