Good answer to a lousy question I guess...anything you care to share would be appreciated. I haven't been perchin on Bago for many years. The granddaughter is now old enough and I would like to get her out there on a quiet day. Looking more for numbers to keep her busy, not so much size.

Member Posts: 377 Location: Neenah Wi | I have'nt posted in awhile but I have been out perch fishing for a couple of weeks now and I have been doing ok.I've been fishing on the edge of the rocks with leaf worms.I'll get near the area I want to fish and drop the anchor to feel whats on the bottom.I try to get as close to the mud as I can.Set the anchor off the front and move from side to side tying off on one side than the other and keep moving back doing the same thing again until I start getting fish. The perch are good size fish and the bite is usually from 10:00-2:00.They do not like the bait moving so windy days are not so good.Keep your bait as close to the bottom as possible because they are feeding on snails and looking down for bait not up.Jigs do work but I found that a plain hook and sinker has been the best for me.I will get a few than will have to wait a little while and get a few more the fish are scattered out along the edge searching for snails so if you catch some fish and it dies just be patient and they will be back.I've been fishing the same area for a couple of weeks now and it is still producing fish. The seagulls will drive you nuts too.
