$50,000.00 top money.
5 fish.
$10,000.00 per fish.

The final event of the In Fisherman Professional Walleye trail begins and ends Saturday, right here in Hudson Wisconsin on the St Croix. The bite has been less than predictable, but smart money says there should be a couple favorites.

Consistency is key in any event and the top three in the PWT Regional were just that. Nick Johnson and Matthew Ernst do not qualify for the Shootout.

If one was to peruse the WalleyeFIRST Leaderboard, Tommy Skarlis, who has been white hot this year, should hold most of the bets. His last three days looked like this:
TOMMY SKARLIS
13.26 [5]

16.83 [5]

20.18 [5]

50.27 TOTAL

Any one of the 2008 PWT Top 50 Qualifiers can win this event , as the river gives up it's Walleyes in a rather fickle manner, and some of the Pros elected to 'prefish' today rather than swing for the fence on the last day of the Qualifier. Other odds on favorites are Mike Gofron, who AGAIN finished in the Top ten, Keith Kavajecz, Brad Davis, Gary parsons, and Rick Olson.

It's a good thing the folks at WalleyeFIRST aren't 'betting men', as this is one is just plain too tough to call.

Stay with us for comprehensive coverage of the PWT Shootout from the landing, on the water, and the Final weigh-in in PWT history tomorrow beginning at 4 PM.

What the river can kick out:

My bet: Gary Parsons. The only thing left for him to win that he alreaedy hasn't won in PWT history is a championship. He's due. Next best guess would be Tommy Skarlis, as he's on fire this year.

Great job on the coverage WF!!!!!

Johnnie Candle has my vote.

He has been consistent on this bite and is working an area away from the crowd. There's big fish there and I hope they bite for him today.

Go Johnnie! Go Johnnie! Go Johnnie!

My pick is Richie "Ricky Bobby" Boggs!!!

He is catching big fish when he gets the bite. if he gets 4 bites is all over!!!!

Go Ricky!!

The PWT Shoot Out Start was delayed by fog for an hour this morning allowing for the sun to get high enough to burn off the soup covering the River at dawn. No one seemed to mind, it can be very dicey running to pool 3 in the fog, even if it's not much more than a mist.

Watch for video, images, and more today from the launch, on the water, and the final weigh in for the PTW as a 2008 PWT Champion is crowned.

The bite was very tough today, but Sue Bee Honey Pro Gil Mollet put 5 in the boat for $50,000.00, beating Dave Van Oss by a bit more than 3 pounds for the Shoot Out Championship title in a very exciting finish.

A perfect finish to the season and the In Fisherman Professional Walleye Trail.

More to follow. Much more.
