Member Posts: 1040 Location: Stevens Point, WI | Crisp and cool was the talk this morning as the 131 boats left on the final day of the Sturgeon Bay NWT. Temps are expected to be in the mid 60's while water temps have fallen from 68 at the mouth of Sturgeon Bay yesterday at days end to 61 this morning. The forecast is for showers and storms with NW winds to 14. As the wind switches and pushes the water around altering water temps, the fish will move...again. The leaderboard is likely to scramble today as a result. Many of the pros were unsure what adjustments they'd have to make today. The weigh in begins at 3:00 at The Lodge of Leatham Smith this afternoon. WalleyeFIRST coverage is brought to you by Lund Boats and Mercury Outboards. Member Posts: 1040 Location: Stevens Point, WI | Korey Sprengel held third place going out on Day Two at Strurgeon Bay, less than five pounds behind leader Brian Deffner. Korey weighed the largest bag Saturday weighing 35.24 pounds, blowing the rest of the field away by nearly 13 pounds. The key to the win for Korey was finding the warm water and continually moving until he found active fish. Joe Okada took second with 62.77. Most anglers were pulling spinners at varying speeds. In third was Bill Shimota. Bill moved up from eighth place with 26.40 and a total weight of 60.91 pounds. Fourth was Wayne Butz, and Scott Steil rounded out the top five. Location: Rhinelander | The pre-fish for many set them up for a crash and burn. The fish moved big time as the conditions changed Thursday, and many of the Pros didn't check whether the fish stayed put until they arrived on Day One where they were Wednesday to find...nothing there. | ||
