Member Posts: 2445 Location: Fremont, Wisconsin | well guys, this morning there was many ice chunks on the river and if not for the steady wind all night, I am sure she would have been bnearly tight this am. The dock thermometer says it 33.2 this am. when the winds calm and the temps get low this weekend, it will be time for the short rods. One good point is, plan ahead, its only 120 days till ice out.

I'm guessing it is already less than 100 days!!! I don't think they do the guys in the boat in New London any more do they I believe the DNR frowned on it! Maybe Denny could come up with a environmentally friendly non-Hazard item to put out in front and offer up a prize for the one to guess the closest date and time? Maybe Steve could donate a thing or two, I might be able to offer up something as well any others want to sweeten the pot! Lets get this going again! Good luck Tyee

That would make the opening water season LESS then 100 days because average ice out is before April 1st. How about, 83 days to ICE BREAKER III and 94 days to open water fishing..... March 19, 2008.

Member Posts: 2445 Location: Fremont, Wisconsin | Its hard to have a count down when the ending date continues to change, I will stick by april 1st for the count. Dale, move over and quit leaning on me, I am fishing on this side of the boat.

Then you'll still be counting when I'm out fishing LOL
