Member Posts: 921 Location: Manitowoc, WI | Congrats Cory and Jason. Great job on a tough bite. The whole upper Winnebago system was pretty much chocolate soup. We tried everything we could think of and couldn't pull a fish. It was 35 degrees at take off and I've never been so cold on a boat in my life. Ski goggles came in handy to keep the eyes from watering on the way out. Again Nice job you two! Edited by Horshak 4/28/2008 11:44 AM

Member Posts: 160 Location: Menasha, WI | Hey cory, this is Axl, congrats on your win. You made a huge decision by running up north and pounding on some fish. These guys that are dogging you did not fish the tournament and have no clue how tough it was. You were the man this past Sunday, and all kudos to you. I tried to fish on Sunset point and we had fish, but nothing over 15 except for the 40 plus sturgeon. We also had a few sheeps and whities in the mix.Glad to see you get the win, and sorry I could not make it to Tony's for the post tournament celebration, but I had to go to work and build fire trucks. See you soon my friend! Nice Win, you earned it!

Member Posts: 580 Location: Green Bay, WI | The first time I met Cory, I had him as a Co in a league event. We jigged for the first part of the day. I can't remember if he put both the fish we got jigging in the box or if it was one and one. The only mistake was letting him talk me into letting a 14 incher go. That one cost us a check! So YES he can work a jig stick!

top 5 teams = $10,000, so where was the other $20,000 spent?

Member Posts: 499 Location: Appleton | CT Not sure how you came up with a $10,000 payout. We paid out over $16,000 in cash paid out. In addition we had over $1300 dollars in merchadice going to the anglers. I never said there was going to be $20,000 payout. If you want to discuss the either e-mail [email protected] or call 920-731-3474 Thanks Jim Coon

The payout for the top 5 adds up to about $10,000, so another 6,000 went to the rest of the paid places to = the $16,000 you paid back to contestants. There were 112 teams, 112 X approximately $275/team = roughly $30,000. So $30,000 minus 16,000 still leaves about $14,000. I am not saying you do anything wrong just asking for an accounting of the $.

FYI Entry Fee is 250 Some of the money goes towards the championship. The rest I believe goes to tfm after all tournament expenses are paid. Good Question I often wonder the same thing

CT, Jim already posted a e-mail address and telephone number to give you all the details. Why not do that instead of all this other hype? If you think his job is a big moneymaker, form your own circuit and rake in the big bucks yourself.

Member Posts: 2300 Location: Berlin | Jim does one heck of a good job running a top notch circuit. I HOPE he is making enough money to keep this worth the headaches. Profit is not a 4 letter word. Keep up the great work Jim, we NEED you. P.S. I love the 50/50! Great idea:)

you people are hilarious, read my post!! I never accused Jim of anything nor did I say he ran a bad tourney. I know he does it very well, but does that mean he is beyond reproach or should not disclose the profit margin of peoples money? Of course he should be paid for his time and effort, I simply am asking how much went to each part of the tourney. I believe Jim is a big boy and don't need others to jump in here and be his big brother or make false conclusions about my question.

Member Posts: 2300 Location: Berlin | I never mentioned you CT so I am not sure where you are coming from. You can do the math so I guess I don't see the point in bringing this up. If the numbers don't add up to you, don't fish or else give Jim a call. TFM is a private comapany so he does not have to tell you anything but I am sure he will. Nobody is playing big brother here. Jim is a friend who runs a top notch circuit honestly. I guess I don't see where you have a problem with us saying that.
