Member Posts: 2300 Location: Berlin | I am very curious to see how these next few tournamants there respond to this. Full Throttle is on the 5th of April and we said if it is over 23' it is automatically cancelled/re-scheduled. Hopefully all is settled down by then. This is just crazy.

Member Posts: 1040 Location: Stevens Point, WI | Perhaps WalleyeFIRST won't be covering the FLW League at Spring Valley scheduled for March 21 with these conditions? Edited by TJ DeVoe 3/9/2009 12:58 PM

Location: Rhinelander | If conditions remain very wet to the North, probably not. The Illinois can come down as fast as it rises, so it's a crap shoot this time of year.

Member Posts: 1195 Location: Orland Park, IL | You got that right. Same sentiment last year. The big rumor last year was the FLW was gonna move the league event to Lake Shelbyville. HA! River came down just fine. Like you said steve, as fast as it comes up, it comes down. Also, I heard a couple of wickets were blown out in Peorio. Now this is from last year, and I didnt think they fixed them over the winter. So, water should be smoking down there.

Member Posts: 74 Location: Spring Valley,Il. | I wish you guys were right. It would be nice to fish a tourney here that wasnt flooded. But now they are predicting the river to crest thursday the 12th at 33.1 feet. The level of the river was 23.63 feet at the 2007 MWC tournament.Thats almost ten feet higher and we all remember what a nightmare that was. They are also predicting 1-2 inches of rain between tonight and tomorrow to only make things worse. Here is how the river fell the last time it was that high. Edited by klino3 3/9/2009 3:32 PM Attachments ---------------- ctredirector.png (17KB - 115 downloads)

Member Posts: 1195 Location: Orland Park, IL | check this out.. Illinois River closed in Grundy County March 10, 2009 at 08:14 AM SPRINGFIELD – Due to rising water levels, swift currents and floating debris, the Illinois Department of Natural Resources is restricting boating access on the Illinois River in Grundy County. The 19 mile section of the Illinois River between boating mile marker 254.1 at the Rock Island Bridge to mile marker 273 at the confluence of the Des Plaines and Kankakee River is closed to all recreational watercraft. Likewise, all recreational boating on the Mazon River up to the confluence of the Illinois River is restricted. IDNR has authorization to designate restricted boating areas when navigation is deemed significantly hazardous.

Member Posts: 6 | Illinois River is Peru is a mess. Projected to be (33.1') - 6" short of the all time record in Sept. 08. Won't be long until they close the the bridges over Illinois 2-51, 3-51, & 89 in Spring Valley., just like in Sept. Even if it stops raining right now, the chances of the river being half-way decent for the FLW will be slim.

Member Posts: 82 | River was inching close to 89 this morning at around 6 am, by close I say 2 feet higher or so and the water would be at the shoulders. I expect the road will be closed by thursday, unless they flush it....but thats doubtful, Ottawa has no storage and the Fox was ripping today. CT, I don't think there is anything wrong with talking about SV flooding, trashing the tournaments or the amount of them is what usually gets people fired up because at times it can be a blast.....and others, a suck fest.
