| Fished the river Saturday 3/21. Lots of ice. Caught 3 and lost two others. Ice jammed up the river near Fremont.
Fish 3/22, lot of ice, no biters, ice was jammed up at Orihula.
If you go, use your head, the ice flows can get ya "pinched" pretty quick. Good Luck. |

Location: Fremont, Wisconsin | Eyes wide open, good point jayman. I have watched the river today and I have yet to see a berg on the river. I am sure there is still some shoreline ice coming. |

| This rain ought to finish off any lingering ice. My question is about the water level. Is it high enough to allow the fish into the marshes? Maybe Tyee will jump in with the gauge to showw the flow, or level, and splain what it all means. |

Location: Menasha, WI | Spent the whole day on the water w/ Avg Joe today. We did very poorly drifting (Except for the one right in front of Denny's dock. Really, I mean right in front) -- lots of short hits then a swing and a miss. Once we anchored up we started hitting them better. Ended up boating 5 and losing a few others.
The current picked up as the day went on. A few ice bergs here and there but nothing major. Clarity is about a foot. Surface temp was 33 when we started and 38 when we pulled anchor at 4:30. |

| Fished last night for a short while, shake down run on the 14'er prepareing for the rafting season.
Tried anchoring and missed one fish. Pulled anchor and started drifting picked up 2 and lost 2 others. Few other boats getting fish on the same drift, atleast until some Donkey decided he'd drop anchor on the same drift and screwed it up. A little courtesy goes a long ways this time of year on the river.
Very few ice bergs coming down. Did see one large sheet let loose from some back water. So still keep your eyes peeled.

Where heading over to lacross this weekand for 7th grade state basketball championship tourny leaving in 30 minutes so i know its going to be real hard being right on the mississippi for me and not being able to fish! |

Location: Oshkosh, WI | There was very little ice flowing down the river in Fremont today. Despite the falling air temps, water was still 39 degrees. Did pretty well anchored in 10-11 fow in a current break. Jig/fathead, none on river rigs for me. |

| Have been fishing below for the last few days and the fishing has been really good. Inside bends and sand bars (shallow) anchoring after dark have been the ticket. Lots of males with the occasional big girl. |

| Fished Sunday in the wind with a friend on his boat, Fishing was slow for us, spent most of the day anchored due to the wind. one sucker and a snagged sturgeon for us.
Fished yesterday with a couple friends after work, jigging was the presentation of choice. 4 walleyes 1 sheephead and a snagged sturgeon for us.

Location: Fremont, Wisconsin | Fished april 1 for 4 hours and caught 6 fish. 1 female and 5 eaters. Many fish were being caught and we had 4 boats and everyone limited out. 6 limits. With this warm up I see the rest pouriong into the river realley soon. I also see the first spawning of the year taking place this weekend. |

Location: Menasha, WI | I was on the water from 6:30-1:00 today. Only caught 3 fish but 2 of them were over 22", the other was a nice eater at 16". 3/8 chartreuse jig and a fathead in 11'-12'. Not a fish nor hardly a bite after 8:30. Every one I talked with was having a bad day. There were ten milion boats between the Rat and the mouth -- I hate bumber boat fishing so I didn't stick around to see how they were doing. |

Location: Neenah, WI | Today was really slow, cold with strong north winds on the back side of the front. Tons of boats, but only saw 2 small males caught. Had a couple short bites, but nothing in the boat. Tried anchoring several inside corners and shallow flats, also drifted a few deep holes. Water temp was 36.5 early, warmed up to a whopping 37 by afternoon.
Better days (& weather) ahead. But it was nice to get out. |

| Schmidt! Yup thats what happens when all those big girls go into the marsh!
I am continually surprised by the number of people that target all these smaller fish from New London to Poygan at this time of year! It's gonna be a zoo out there tomorrow if today was any indication. You'd think the unemployment rate was near 50% with all those people out there on a weekday! Go north if you want bigger fish and peace and quiet!

Location: Oshkosh, WI | Tyee called it. I fished from light to 4:30 and caught two males - fished from south of fremont to Gill's Landing. I only saw about 10 fish boated from among the hundreds I idled past. I am sure fish were caught, it was pretty slow tho.
From reading the posts on LL, it seems that Fremont and Shiocton were slow, but New London - not so bad. Do you think that is because the bulk of the fish are past Fremont and when they get around shiocton they are hitting marshes but the ones in New London are still eating? or something else? or noise? |

The marshes way north of Shiocton are full of fish. There were hundreds tagged in the past 2 days, the forcast might dump alot of them back into the river as The gates are all open and the water is dropping and they will continue heading north looking for warm water. I wouldn't expet the core to close the gates until Monday or Tuesday then Wed thru Friday when the temps get backnear 50 they will move back into the marshes I think a lot of the "big" fish may make it to Shawano by then. There are fish throughout the river now although all those 22-25" females are up nort! It's been a great bite the past few days and I would think that by the end of next weekend the spawn will be done.

Location: Appleton wi | I was out yesterday from 10-4ish and fished north of fremont and managed one fish17" empty male and only saw a few fish boated . The water temp was 42.3 and i have a hunch there was major spawning activity last nite! I agree next weekand should be a outstanding bite! |

Location: Fremont, Wisconsin | The 3-5 day lul in activity has begun for us. This is a great time to rake the yard, do the lists and make browny points. hahahahahahaha I almost laughed while I was typing myself. I expect to see fish movement by the end of the week. |
