Member Posts: 714 | Sorry guys, no offense intended "Since voters elected Franklin Roosevelt to his first of four terms in 1932, the Redskins have forecasted the next President. Over the past 18 elections, a Redskins win the weekend before Election Day has preceded a win by the incumbent party. On the other hand, a Redskins loss before the vote has preceded a loss by the incumbent party." Soooooo, as a Vikings fan, I have TWO reasons to hope the Packers loose this week! Member Posts: 714 | Perchie, You want to pick on the performance of an injuried player? Thats pretty low. It's not Randy's fault the coach only put him in for 2 plays, and didn't throw to him either play. You better hope he's still injuried come Nov. 14th, cause if he isn't you don't have a DB that can stop him, and the way your defense has been giving up points.......... Member Posts: 100 Location: Oshkosh, WI | Jack, I forgot the Vikes D is so dominant (is Hovan still in the league?). Also didn't realize it was Tice's fault that Randy kept his streak going. I was thinking that since Randy didn't practice all week that he was ready to go as well and I am not even a coach (Tice is a moron)! Say what you want as a typical Vikes fan does, get all hyped up because they got the record going. Did a 6-0 start last year end at 9-7? It isn't like we have never played against Randy before and in fact the series is 6-6 since Randy joined the Vikes. Sherman is 5-3 vs Vikes. Perchie

Member Posts: 714 | Perchie, Go back to the top and read the very first words of this thread: " Sorry guys, no offense intended ....." and someone like you has to come along and try to turn it into a pissing match. Feel pretty good about yourself do you? You're one of the biggest reasons you don't see me visiting Lake-Link! Go REDSKINS, I want Bush to win!!

| Last week at the game,I made a commrnt to the Cowgirl fan behind me,that went like "Now we have TWO things from Texas I don't like" enough on that subject. The Vikes still suck, and always will.IMHO..political threads can be fun,and very informative, too bad the moderators are so narrow minded here. The win the Pack will have Sunday, will be hard earned with Harris, and Sharper hurt, but win they will .... hafe | |||

Member Posts: 714 | I swear, most you guys must not even READ the lead post, do you. As a Viking fan I will say openly, if we were playing the Redskins this weekend, I would be pulling for the Redskins, because I'm affraid of Kerry winning the election. Since you are playing them, its just another reason for me to pull against the Pack. But....as long as everyone wants to start the B.S., fine, lets go for it. The Vikings are going to kick your A$$E$ when we come into Lambeau on the 14th, and I'll be there to watch it. What is the story about your team in LAM-BLOW this year anyway. They seem to be CHOCKING on the preasure of playing at home. Lets see now, they have set records for the most consecutive losses at LAM-BLOW. Most points ever scored against a Packer team in LAM-BLOW. Most points scored against a Packer team in a quarter of play ANYWHERE. Most points ever scored against a Packer team in HISTORY. After 2 great games by the now ancient Brett Farve (and I do respect everything he has done during his carreer) he has managed to get his QB rating up to I believe an 86.?. Maybe the rest of the team should show up and play once in awhile!! Face it, you've got your hands full when we come to town. We have had a problem on defense, and it is slowly improving, and we still have a long way to go, but against the offense you guys have, we should be okay. We always play our best game against you guys. We have the number 1 offense in the league. The top rated QB in the league, who has an almost perfect QB rating, and will be the League MVP at the end of the season!! The top recieving corp in the league. The best collection of running backs in the league. We have more team speed than your team. And last but not least, there is absolutely NO WAY your defense will stop us!! You guys have NO back field to speak of, and those you do have can't run with our wide outs, or jump high enough to even touch the tops of their heads. If it weren't for Barnett in the middle, you guys would probably have lost at least one more game than you already have. Most of all, we know there is absolutely no such thing as a HOME FIELD ADVATAGE in LAM-BLOW anymore. Now that I've let you bait me into your game, can we return to the topic at hand, or does everyone in Wisconsin want Kerry to win this election? Edited by JLDII 10/29/2004 9:37 PM

Member Posts: 714 | Geez, I point out one little piece of trivia, and make a joke out of it, and you get all bent out of shape. Regardless of who your favorite team is, or who you cheer for, the election is a hell of a lot more important than the game of football. I'm man enough to sign my name to my posts and take the grief. Believe it or not, most people respect me for that much at least. How much respect do you think people are giving you when they don't even know who you are. And by the way, at the end of the season, as most people on this site know, I'm the first person to congratulate you guys and your team when they win the division. Its called respect. Something you seem to need to learn a little about.

![]() Member Posts: 2680 Location: Essexville, MI./Saginaw Bay. | Heres a little real info for you all. And I say this with one hand over my AZZ, because I'm very, very serious about the elections and my choice for President this year. I spent 3 hours Friday afternoon doing something that I personally thought I'd never do. I did it because I think this is the most important election in my life time, and I've never felt more emmotional, involved or concerned with it's results. And that thing I did was/is making phone calls from one of the affiliation party headquarters to urge people to vote for my party members choice. I prefer not to say which one, to avoid all the comments and enuendos that might ensue because of it. But heres the honest skinny on the calls. I called 153 different homes in my area. Several of the older folks I called and answered their phones, had already voted via absentee ballot. All had voted for Bush. There were still a few, who were mostly young women, who were still undecided. All the rest were strongly for or agains't their man and stated so in verbiage that I cannot repeat here. There was this one guy who got a chuckle out of me. He said he was keeping count on how many phone calls he got and from what party. The person/party with the LESS calls was getting his vote. Then theres my niece who (honest to God) told me she was voting for the other guy because she didn't like the sound of my candidates voice on TV. For the love of God people. If you don't understand whats at stake in this election, whats been going on since 9-11, have virtually no knowledge history of your candidates choices, decisions or charcter since he's been in the political field, and what this all means to our kids and grandkids down the road. Please stay at home and let the people who know more about the candidtaes than the good or bad (sound of his voice) make the decisions. Edited by walleye express 11/1/2004 8:13 AM

Member Posts: 580 Location: Green Bay, WI | Dan, I know you don't want to discourage people from voting but that is what your last paragraph comes across as. Please people get out and vote!!!! This vote is very important but don't give the office of president too much credit or too much blame for what happens in our world/country/economy. Just like a coach should not get too much credit or too much blame for the way their team plays. The coach doesn't cause turnovers or miss tackles. The president doesn't cause the internet .com business boom inflating stock prices and making our 401Ks look so good we're all thinking about retiring early. Do you remember all the .com Super Bowl commercials? The next year 80% of those companies were out of business and our 401Ks took a big dump!! It was the Y2K boom and bust as companies spent boatloads of money worrying about their systems crashing because of a DATE, then cut budgets and put projects on hold. Which president gets credit for the year 2000? Then there was 9-11, does anyone think it would have mattered which president was in office? Again don't get me wrong Presidency is one powerful position - get out and VOTE!!! It is your right and privilege. It is the very foundation of OUR system of government.

![]() Member Posts: 2680 Location: Essexville, MI./Saginaw Bay. | Nope....I don't agree. That borders on the same mentality of the guy who goes out day after day (catching and killing) his limit of walleyes, because they continue to bite. His freezer is full, he don't need the fish, but they are there, so why not? His trian of thought has no logic and he don't care how or who his decisions impact or effects. Heres a better example. PETA somehow has gotten enough signatures on a petition to bring to a vote, rather a favorite WALLEYE LAKE OF YOURS AND YOUR FRIENDS should stay open or be closed. Both sides present their knowledgable and well thought out casses both pro and con about the whole debate. You may not agree with PETA's insane arguments, but you at least understand their un-rational facts. Then, low and behold on vote day, it ends up a tie. So somebody with no persuations or knowledge either way is brought in to break the tie. This tie breaker don't fish, he never has. He don't care either way who wins. He's heard little if any arguments on the subject either way, why should that matter? He remembers he had a gold fish once when he was a kid, and remembers how sad he was when it died. Heck, that's good enough, I vote for the PETA crowd. My last paragraph says if you plan on voting in an election this important and your determining factor for doing so, is because you do or don't like "the voice" of either man on TV, I'd prefer you left the voting to the people with brians enough to sanely/fairly weigh the issues involved. This is only my own honest opinion. I'm Captain Dan Manyen...and I approved this message. Edited by walleye express 11/1/2004 12:39 PM
