Location: Rhinelander | What was your big 'eye for this year? Submit a picture and the story here, and at month's end, I'll send a WalleyeFIRST hat and coffee mug to the one our judges decide is the best. This will be the start of a regular feature at WalleyeFIRST, the monthly photo contest. Walleye related shots from each month should be submitted, as many as you want, taken during the contest month. There doesn't HAVE to be a fish in the picture, either. Some of the best shots over at MuskeFIRST have been scenery or mood shots. So did you get a big walleye this year? Let's see a picture!

Because 99% of the time my clients are reeling them in. ![]() I'll probably have my best shot at it, when the Saginaw Bay freezes over. ![]() Edited by walleye express 12/6/2004 9:07 AM

Member Posts: 1656 | I'll Bite.... Here's a picture of me (on the left) and my friend Kyle, a select few know him as 3XL and size has nothing to do with it. I'm holding a 29-3/4" fish that went 10 - 14 lbs/oz, Kyle is holding a 31" that went 10 - 14 lbs/oz. The fish I landed would of went back but lost an eye in the fight and I felt it would of been a waste to let her go and become seagull food she will get a resting place on my wall. The 31" is Kyle's first over 30" and his personal best. Now for the "big one that got away"......the next day Kyle lost a fish that would of easily topped both of these fish. It's a picture that reflects this obsession and addiction that I call walleye fishing. It's cold, it's windy, it's wet, and it's snowing. BUT you can tell by my smile that I would not want to be anywhere else in the world than right there doing what I'm doing. Thank You "Someday" for capturing the moment. Boy, I really love that Bay de Noc area. Attachments ---------------- ![]()

Member Posts: 265 Location: Combined Locks, WI | Earlier this spring pre fishing for the RCL league event on Green Bay myself and two friends boated 7 fish in about 20 minutes ranging from 27" to 31". We caught close to 25 fish that day and the smallest was 25". I am not kidding when I say the one we lost was probably 34" and went close to 15 pounds. All three of us saw it and we all agreed that it was the biggest walleye any of us had ever seen. My one friends Dad is a Taxidermist and he said he never saw one bigger in his Dads shop. This fish snagged up twice on the weeds and rocks on bottom but we still got it up close enough to get a look. Our jaws hit the floor. All of those fish came on harnesses except for one. My personal best this year was a 30" and a 31.75" that won the Gannett Midwest Newspapers Master Angler Standings in the Catch and Release division. The 30" held third place for a long time. The picture of the 31.75 is the same fish picture in my avatar image. Again these were harness fish. Jon Piette Attachments ---------------- ![]() ![]()

Member Posts: 72 Location: Plover, WI | Here's my favorite big fish of the year in my boat. This is my dad with his personal best. 30" and went 11-2. Kyle up above in Jayman's post had caught that 31" the same night in my boat less than 2 hours earlier. Fact that it was my dad, his personal best, and a great sunset shot makes it my favorite. Yep Sunshine, you have to love LBDN. Attachments ---------------- ![]()

Member Posts: 1656 | Since I know Carrocr is too modest to post his own picture......I'll do it for him ![]() Here he is with a pair landed as a double, although I'm sure it's not his biggest for the year. It was one of those great days on the water with a good friend Attachments ---------------- ![]()

Member Posts: 265 Location: Combined Locks, WI | Lund dude, that is committment and or dedication for sure. Some people that don't understand the thrill and excitement of catching a big fish would call that stupidity but I think that is an awsome picture. JP

Member Posts: 83 Location: Isle MN. | Not a huge fish by any means but the top fish came from Cass Lake while prefishing with Mike Gofron. 26 1/2" to bad he wasn't on the Mille Lacs diet. The bottom pic is an hour and a half of crankin on Mille Lacs. We released 2 others that were over 22" and 4 under 14"s. Attachments ---------------- ![]() ![]()

Member Posts: 2300 Location: Berlin | Here are two fish that I caught with my buddy Big Grass. We were pre-fishing on the Wolf River for an upcoming tourney. Just so happened it was a couple days before the PWT Winneconne. The water was muddy and fast so thumper jigs were the way to go. We had hooked several smaller fish in the 18-20" range and then the big one hit. I fought it all the way up and just as it broke the surface she came un-buttoned. With one of the greatest net jobs ever witnessed the fish was in the boat. Definately not the biggest fish of the year but one of the funnest. Attachments ---------------- ![]()

Member Posts: 617 Location: Oshkosh, Wisconsin | Here's one of the biggest walleye in my boat this year... its was my Dad's 29.25 incher caught on LBDN on December 9th. First board of the day went back and my Dad started to wrestle in a fat 27.5 inch LBDN walleye. This fish hit about 30 seconds later and got drug around for 5 minutes while we landed the "little" one. Edited by Brad B 12/20/2004 11:47 PM Attachments ---------------- ![]()

Member Posts: 83 Location: Isle MN. | Here are a few more of my favorites. This is my little cousin "Louie", he was a fish catchin machine this summer racking up his first 6 walleyes and dozens of sunfish and perch. The big walleye just about pulled him out of the boat.
