Member Posts: 2680 Location: Essexville, MI./Saginaw Bay. | fiveinthelive - 3/1/2006 5:43 PM I gotta call him, he sure nailed those perch inline weights Five. It might be a good idea to attach one of those (snap on) stingers to the front of those weights when trolling. I'm sure it would not effect the running dynamics of the weight. I know that the walleyes on Saginaw Bay hit both my painted Keels and the snap on weights on occassion. I'm thinking on certain days, you might get just as many hits on those tasty looking weights. And a stinger on the weight might catch you a few extra fish. Edited by walleye express 3/2/2006 8:41 AM

Member Posts: 188 Location: Westland, Mich. | in michigan it is unlawful to: Possess or sell a multi-pointed hook with a weight permanently attached. Have a weight rigidly attached to a multi-pointed hook; or suspended from a multi-point hook; or suspended below any hook unless the hook is on a dropper line (a leader) that is at least 3" long. the la 5a9 st rule has been modified for 2006 to allow drop shotting. Gear Restrictions. Changes to the gear restrictions order were made to allow anglers to suspend a weight below a hook tied directly to the main line (without using a three-inch dropper line) on certain waters. The method of using this gear is called “drop shotting” and will now be legal to use on inland lakes, the Great Lakes and connecting waters. However, the gear restriction is still in effect on all rivers, streams and drowned river mouths where snagging potential is highest. The list of drowned river mouths by county is: Kalamazoo River and Silver Lake in Allegan County; Betsie Lake in Benzie County; Arcadia Lake, Manistee Lake and Portage Lake in Manistee County; Pere Marquette Lake in Mason County; Duck Lake, Mona Lake, Muskegon Lake and White Lake in Muskegon County; Pentwater Lake, Silver Lake and Stony Lake in Oceana County; Macatawa Lake and Pigeon Lake in Ottawa County. Member Posts: 188 Location: Westland, Mich. | permanent and rigid are the key words. a stinger that clips on and swings freely is fine. you also have to pay attention to the hook totals. this is as it applys in mighigan. now lets get back to the original post. man those ARE some beeaauuutiful blades!

Member Posts: 2680 Location: Essexville, MI./Saginaw Bay. | I asked my DNR bud this question last year and I'm thinking that you can indeed (especially with the recent change in the law) attach a free floating stinger to a weight lighter than 1 ounce in weight. I'd verify that with a local DNR branch officer before I'd chance doing it though. Edited by walleye express 3/2/2006 8:08 PM

Member Posts: 701 Location: upper michigan | in michihan it is 2 hooks or lures per line so if you ran an inline with a stinger then you8 could run a crawler harness or crank behind it and be good.
