Member Posts: 5 | Nice work Skeeter. I think I was passed by you in Neenah (black/purple skeeter and SUV) this morning at about 5:30am on the road??? Anyway. I too found plenty of fish, although most were in the shorter range. I kept 5 from 13.5-15 and threw back 5-10 more in the 10-13" range along with 3 whites and countless sheepshead. I was running two crawler harnesses and one crank. Harnesses were 20-45 back on 1oz and 3/4 oz bottom bouncers. I had the best luck on chartruse colorado blade. Anyway, I focused mostly near reef areas and the adjacent mud. Mostly 12-15 fow. I pretty much focused on the bottom 5 feet as this is were every fish was marked. I fished between Neenah and Oshkosh. Anyone with any ideas how to rig tattle flags that are homemade? Most of the time I can tell a fish but if there is a cheaper way than blow in $14 more on a flag and spring I would be interested. Good luck. Edited by Hammer em' 6/4/2006 8:35 PM

Member Posts: 106 Location: Chilton, WI | Nice work Dominic! I was out today from about 3pm till dark. I trolled the mud about 4 miles out from Brothertown and south. Kept 3 ranging from 14" to 16". Those were the only 3 eyes caught today. Couldn't realy find a pattern, one came from a perch wally diver, one on a goodie minow and another on a ruff guy. I tried running one harness at various depths and managed nothing but goats.

My hats off to any one who is on nice fish. I ran spinners in the mud form 5 pm till 8 pm sunday night and caught 8 eyes all under 15. I had more sheep head then I could count. This is the usual for me this year. No use to go into the details on my program as it is not a big fish getter. Do you guys think the bigger fish are in with the littles ones and you need to figure out how to make them go or do you keep hunting for a diffrent group of fish????????????????

Location: WI | Nobody mentions them here But my goto bait the last couple years has been the black/chrome ripshad off a board of course. Here is one more tip, #10 jet diver flat lined out the back. The Jet gives a nice jigging action to whatever you drag behind.

Member Posts: 183 Location: Menasha, Wis. | Haven't posted much this year as I did not have much good news to report. Saturday I trolled crankbaits from High Cliff to Calumet County Park. Never got a walleye in the boat - just Sheepheads. Everyone at the landing that I talked to said they were getting a few on crawlers. Sunday I went to the north end with crawlers. Caught a few walleyes with the largest being 15 inches. Lots of little white bass in the area to steal your crawlers. Marking more fish on the North end than any other place I have been. Just do not know what they are. Good to heard a few people are getting on the larger fish and hopefully the rest of us will start to find them too. Happy fishing to all ![]()

Member Posts: 1314 Location: Menasha, WI | Nice work Dominic!! Hard work and time on the water payoff! I posted a report for 6/1 that must have gotten dusted in the upgrade. It wasn't much, one nice fat 17"er off the OuterBar on jig and a leech at 5:05am. I've been in MN fishing crappies and gill since then. Breakfast was delicious this morning. I'll be back out on Bago this week. Dominic, if you need someone to fill a seat, my schedule is pretty flexible ![]()

Thanks Purple Skeeter. I do appreciate your reports and have all spring and summer. It is nice to get honest info on the fisheryI'm just a guy out trying to get a few fish for a meal-I don't fish tourneys. Have not had much good to report myself until this weekend. Also did well south of oshkosh with harnesses. We were fishing in 18 ft of water. Red/White , black/white, blue holographic worked the best for us. .5-.8 mph with snap weights. No one fishing within a mile of us.

Member Posts: 59 Location: Appleton, WI | NICE JOB MR. SKEETER!! Actually, I think purple is a good color for bago. Was out Sunday 7am to 11am. Managed 4 keepers in the 15-16" range off Stevens Reef in 12-19 FOW. All caught on #7 shads about 50' back behind the board in that white and purple color. Kind of green on top with a little red by the mouth. That's been my best bait for 2 years now. You must have a great job Mr. Skeeter to spend that much time on the water. My problem is that golf interfears with my time on the water. If I get any worse on the golf course and can't break 80 anymore, I might relate all my free time to fish'n!! Not a bad thought, eh? Keep up the good fish'n Mr. Skeeter and keep up the good reports!! Luv it!!! Mike

I don't believe the big fish are mixed in with the little ones. Big fish definately group together. You might find a big one mixed in here and there but thats about it. If I catch 6 or 8 little ones or so and no big fish yet, the rest of the fish I catch are usually small too.

Purple Skeeter, you do post the most info here, keep up the good work. I did very bad Sat during Van Dyne, but finally found nicer fish yesterday north. Caught 20 walleyes, with 9 over 15", biggest almost 19", 2.5 lbs. Crawlers with #4 blades, 1 oz inline weight, 5 - 25 ft back, 1mph. Too many sheeps to keep track of.
