The field has been set for the 7th Annual Walleye Classic here at Fort Fremont Marine. Sponsored in part by Mercury Marine, Tuffy Boats, The Auto/Outdoor Gazette, Ma's Bait and Tackle, Macks Lures, Sheboygan walleye Club, and of course Fort Fremont Marine.

There will be new spectator "play along" programs that could put extra money in your pocket for just coming out to watch. Our pro-shop is up and running and stocked with the lastest in water fun gear. It will be a good day to be under the big top tent with a raised platform for viewing the fish and hearing the stories by all attendee's. Weigh-in's start at 1:00 pm. Get here early to take advantage of the free give aways.

Go to www.fortfremont.com and see the pure fishing pages for a list of contestants and there boat numbers.

I'd steer clear of the #46 boat. Can't be anything but trouble with those 2 together

Where's the list? You'd think this high profile tourney would have published the list on here! What gives? Why do I have to navigate to some other site to see my name? I think the FFMWC needs to post this list and start a Fantasy League.

Boat #46 Rules! We got them just where we want them, Tyee!

As with any good marketing plan, it would make no sense to publish the list of contestants anywhere other than the promoters home site. It has been up for 2 weeks.

Hi Everybody.

Just wanted to refresh this thread and give a complete rundown on saturdays event.

The tents are going up as planned and the stage will be set. There will be door prize drawings, sponsored by Mercury Marine, for visitors, starting at 11.00 am.

There will be a first as far as I know for spectators at a walleye event. This is sponsored by Fort Fremont Marine and the Auto/Outdoor Gazette. If you are over 18 and one of the first 50 people here, you can draw out a boat number to cheer for. If they place 1st you will recieve 50 dollars. 2nd will get 30 and 3rd will get 20.

Tuffy Boats has sponsored a brat fry for the event that will be for everyone in attendance as well as the fisherman.

The Auto/Outdoor Gazette will be in attendance as well as the Sheboygan Walleye Club.

Ma's Bait and Tackle has joined to help the contestants with bait as well.

Macks Lures have joined our force with 2- 50.00 dollar gift certificates to be awarded to the 6th and 7th place teams.

Our show room is stocked with the latest in all the summer fun toys you can imagine. Come on in and talk to Jenna, Jeff, Megan, Jake or Chris for help with ski's, wakeboards, and the like.

Come on out on saturday the 14th, weigh in start at 1pm. It will be a nice day to be near water. We do have side walls for the tent to cut any wind that may happen.

Thanks

Denny Fox

Thanks Shep, Had a great time! Denny, you run an excellent event! Nice to meet a few of you as well. We had a plan and stuck it out for the big fish although they didn't show up like we expected. We only got to fish for 3 hours and they didn't cooperate like they did on Friday, as the high pressure moved in and the water temp increased. Who would have guessed that the winner would be the one that got to fish nearly the entire day! Great job guys.
That 1890 is a great ride, thanks Shep for letting me be the first one to get it slimmed! See ya at the MWS!
Good Luck
Tyee

Yep, had a good time, considering I lost a rod and real to the Wolf, and a big fish because of a brain fart on my part. Missed an eye with the line, and it wrapped around it. I couldn't reel it in, and must have gotten slack. Away she swam before Tyee could get the net.

Was it a good decision to go upriver? Sure. If we convert on two fish we lost, we maybe finish in the money. Besides, it wasn't too bad a trip. We had on ly a couple boats on the area we fished, so pressure wasn't the issue. We just missed the bites we converted the day before.

Thanks Tyee for the lessons of the Wolf. I encourage anyone to get out with Rod if they can. He's got a lot of knowledge on this system. Besides, we talked shop as much as we did fishing. It was actually quite fun talking work for a change.

Denny, thanks for putting on a good event. Run very well, and it seemd like everyone enjoyed it. Thanks to Tuffy boats for the brats at weigh in. They hit the spot.

After a two year hiatus, it was great to be back. Brad and I failed to capture the moment on saturday and resulted in a 10th place finish. Further proof that there is no instant pudding in walleye fishing

I'd like to tip my hat and a big *clap clap clap* To Chris Schroeder and Blain Hornes the winners they overcame adversity and came out with the win. Also a big thanks to Tuffy boats, Auto Gazzette, Ma's bait and tackle, Sheboygan walleye club, and Fort Fremont Marine. It's a great event and I'm just glad to be a part of it once again.

Well Done, Denny!

As others have already said, great job with the tournament Denny. Chris Gasser is always entertaining as MC.

As for the fishing, the bite was pretty tough. The fish weren't very aggressive and a number of teams I talked to had problems with fish coming unbuttoned. We lost 2 at the net as well. Congrats to the winners, Chris Schroeder and Blain Hornes.

The weather dawned perfect. There was a slight chill in the air, and the winds were calm. The stage was set. 50 teams from around the state showed up to play for the covetted title and, of course, the $1,000.00 top prize.

When the dust cleared one team was left standing, Chris Schrader and Blaine Hornes. With 11.12#'s of Wolf River fish, it gave them a gap of 3.28#'s over 2nd place.

2ND place was grabbed by one of walleye firsts very own members, bagowalleyeguy, Lance Busse. Partnered with Steve Slabe they caught 7.84#'s and a check for 500 smackers.

3rd Place was Rod and Scott Barkholtz with 7.08 $300.00

4th Place Rob Korth and Tom McPeak with 6.59 $200.00

5th Place Dan Rowe and Jeff Wettstien with 6.15#'s and they were also the big fish winners with a 3.54#er $150.00 + $500.00

The winners of the first ever dash for cash play along yeilded some very happy people. The lady's knew what it took to win the draw a team number game as all spots were won by women. This will definantly be a part of the show every year. This was sponsored by the auto Gazette and Fort Fremont Marine.

Macks lures sponsored the event with 2- 50.00 dollar gift certificates. 6th and 7th Place recieved them. They were, Kurt Duxbury and Kieth Ziemba in 6th and AAron Crist and Chris Akey in 7th.

Tuffy Boats sponsored food for everyone in attendance. It seemed like a big hit as I watched Tarzans kids all get a lunch while they waited for DAD to return.

I want to take a few moments to talk about the sponsors, with out them it would not be where it is at today.

The Outdoor Gazette, it is inside the Auto Gazette. Where do you find that? At the gas station you stop at, there is a rack of weekly papers like the buyers guide, the auto gazette is there. Inside the Auto Gazette you will find the outdoor gazette. Pick it up every weds, its full of articles and ads for boats and atv's and such.

Tuffy Boats. Nothing like getting a brat when you come off the water. Thanks Steve.

Mercury Marine sponsored door prizes as well as Scott Hausauer and Penzoil Oil. I think everyone in attendance recieved something.

Macks lures helped out with the gift certs.

Sheboygan walleye club helped to emcee and be the weigh master and kept all the paper work in order.

North Bound Trail in Fremont Sponsored Cffee and Donuts for the morning. Stop in and tell them why you are stopping. They came in early and delivered the coffee at 430 am.

Ma's bait and tackle in Fremont helped out everybody with buy some get some free minnows for the event.

Thanks To all who fished and if anyone wants on the mailing list, drop me a message and I will make sure you are on the mailing list.

Pictures will follw soon, I need to resize.

Had a great time fishing Fort Fremont again this year! We also had boat problems, as we fouled a plug in the long no wake stretch in Fremont. We ended up putting the kicker down and changing the plugs while in a no wake zone. It actually went better than planned and we only lost 30 minutes or so of fishing time. We had a decent day with lots of fish coming to the boat, but we just couldn't get anymore females in. Had a couple other good bites and ended up with 8 legal fish for the day. We actually thought that we did worse, thought some more big fish would've been pulled with the big names in the event! We were pleasantly surprised with the results and plan on being back again next year!

we saw a bunch of tourney boats come through up by us on saturday morning. very courteous as most slowed down for the boats on our drift which wasn't in a slow no wake. bagowalleyeguy who were some of the big names that you are talking about. we did see a couple boats with their names on their motors.

Tyee and I went through past Weilands. Lots of boats fishing there. We were in the second flight, and the group we were in played pretty nice. We kept to a no wake speed in areas like these that had numerous boats fishing the area. I heard no complaints all day.

Thanks to the sponsors. The coffee was hot in the morning, and was very much appreciated. The donuts looked really good. I miss donuts!
