Member Posts: 1991 | I know a couple other manufactures do it, I think it would be fun to have a little GTG and tourney?

There are some plans in the making, we will keep everyone informed here on this board.

that would be fun...if possible, let's keep it a "Tuffy" GTG instead of walleye or muskie specific. put it on some water where you can fish for both (Green Bay anyone???) and everybody wins. great idea!

I got a little free advertising for tuffy boats last night on the channel 11 news. I just wish the fish was a little bigger. But it will taste good!!

Member Posts: 3899 | How about Petenwell in September? Both eyes and Muskies. I can use it to prefish for the MWS Championship! hehehe Always an angle, huh, Lambeau?

I'm in favor of a GTG with the Tuffy guys.......Let's see if Worrall can get something put together.........Let's come up with the winning grand prize........Middle of the pack prize and the last place grand prize...... Question.......Should we include the spouses.....?

Member Posts: 3899 | Sure, spouses. Why not? Afterall, they put up with all this fishing nonsense all year long. It would be fun to have a picnic type fun outing, and include them.

Member Posts: 1040 Location: Stevens Point, WI | Well I guess I won't have to worry about a spouse. Steve/Fiberdome, how bout a new Tuffy for a grand prize? hehe

I leave those decisions up to Zach and Steve.......Heck......Maybe we should give away 3 or 4...... I'm sure with everyones combined efforts we could put together one heck a of good time...... Shep.....Lambeau.....Slamr......Horseshack.......thoughts.....

Location: Rhinelander | Probably the best thing to do is place the event on good walleye/muskie water, and set it for a weekend. Any thoughts on when this would be best for everyone?

Member Posts: 3899 | And maybe a central location, as we have some owners from MN and Ill that might attend as well. Maybe some beyond those, as well. The Pete has Muskie and Walleyes. Green Bay, and Bago too. We could always waste our time like Norm, and fish Rock Lake! I think this is a great idea. I would suggest making it a family thing, pick a location with panfish, eyes, and muskies, and have a cookout, some beverages, good conversation, and some freindly competition. I think the when will be the hardest part, but mid July, to Mid August don't have too many tourneys in the way.

Member Posts: 921 Location: Manitowoc, WI | I think it's a great idea. Should be somewhere the wife and kids had something to do other than fish. Then again, maybe they will stay home. Either way, I'm in if my work schedule allows.

Petenwell is a good suggestion, there are some nice county parks all around it that we could use as HQ. upside is it's a fishery with multi-species and it's centrally located, downside is there's not much around it. Madison chain might be an option, good facilities on and off the water, and it's relatively central location. Green Bay about the same, but a little further out of the way. if we go with Petenwell or Madison, i can do the legwork on finding/reserving facilities.

Member Posts: 273 | I think this is a great idea! I still remember what a great time the "TUFF-Team" had at the inaugural Fleet Farm Open years ago. Steve cooks a mean brat and I've always thought the beer tastes better when it's bought by Bendall. For selfish reasons, I like Pool 4, but not a good choice though for our muskie brethren. I agree with what lambeau says about Petenwell. Nice facilities, swimming beaches, camping option, and multi-species, but lack of other stuff. I don't know if you can ever go wrong planning a fishing trip to Green Bay. Would be one more excuse for me to head that way & fish. Also like the idea of including the family. I seem to be gone enough fishing while they're at home, so would be nice to include them. Whatever gets decided, let me know what I can do to help.

Well....Looking at all the suggestions........Sounds like everyone is familiar with there waters......How about this..... Chippewa Florage........? Hayward.......Could take over a specific resort or bar.......Evening cook out and camp fire......Few barrels of bear......1/2 of cow......Tatters.....Salads....... Worrall entertainment........? Nah........ Maybe some of our guides and Minnesota friends would chime in......thoughts......

Member Posts: 921 Location: Manitowoc, WI | Seeing how not all of our spouses/significant others fish, and a couple of you responded about having something for the family to do, here are a couple links if the Green Bay area is chosen. First we have the Tundra Lodge. http://www.tundralodge.com/Template40.aspx?pageid=200&contentid=0. You don't have to stay to play. $20 per person day passes are available. Next we have Bay Beach Amusement Park/Wildlife Sanctuary. http://www.ci.green-bay.wi.us/geninfo/baybeach_web/baybeachhome.htm... http://www.baybeachwildlife.com/ Good time for younger children and not expensive if that matters. Next we have, and I can't believe a Bear fan is saying this, the Packer Hall of Fame. http://www.lambeaufield.com/hall_of_fame/visit_the_hall_of_fame/ If there is a game at Fox Stadium, there is the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers baseball. Great time at the stadium although this is about 45 min South of Green Bay. http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/index.jsp?sid=t572 These are just a list of options if anybody is interested. Or if the families that do not want to fish, they can have a big picnic somewhere and have a bunch of fun activities planned for them. Let's get our heads together and get more area attractions out so we can have the wives/significant others have somewhat of a choice. I lived in the Twin Cities for 3 years and I know there are a lot of things to do there also. Again this is just an options list in case Green Bay is selected. The earlier we select a date and site the better it will be. This way those of us who have to get vacation from work can get it approved as soon as possible. Edited by Horshak 5/11/2007 7:23 AM

Member Posts: 1991 | Hayward would be nice, lotsa stuff to do in the area. It is kind of mid point. Lot of lodging in the area. Bet if you caught a couple of those big muskies and fry them up you could feed quite a crowd, tastes like chicken I heard

Member Posts: 2445 Location: Fremont, Wisconsin | I like the idea of UP NORTH versus green bay and big water for most of the muskie guys. The fishing will be a small part. The cook outs and such should lend its self to a great weekend. Make sure we have enough accomadations within the walking distance to that fire. I like the early fall, sept. time frame, before hunting starts and championships are settled.

I'm in as long as it's at the right time. Mid Sept sounds great!
