Location: Appleton | Congratulations to all twenty-five teams that qualified to fish in the 2007 MWS Championship tournament for over $20,000 in cash and prizes.
Saturday started with clear skies and light winds. It was a beautiful day. Tournament head quarters were at Petenwell County Park, a beautiful facility. Twenty-one of the twenty-five teams weighed fish. Seven teams weighed a five fish limit. There were seventy-four fish weighed for a total weight of 126.6#. Many teams stated they boated many fish just short of the fifteen-inch size limit. Several teams stated they caught over forty fish during the day.
Brothers Brian Regall and Terry Regall won the 2007 MWS Championship. They took first place with a five fish limit weighing 12.58# winning them $4,800. They also had the big fish of the tournament weighing 7.82# winning them two plaques donated by All Sport and Trophy, a Stowmaster net and an assortment of Ka Boom lures. Brian and Terry stated they fished with jigs and slip bobbers. Their big fish was caught on a slip bobber. Second place went to the team of Bill Lodi and Milt Mueller with five fish also totaling 11.74# for $2,500. Third place went to the team of Ron and Vickie Goldapske with five fish weighing 10.10# for $2,000. Fourth place went to the team of Jim O’Brien and Chris O‘Brien with five fish weighing 8.22# for $1,500. Fifth place went to the team of Kevin Adams and John Schneider with four fish totaling 8.06# for $1,200.
The 2007 MWS Team of the year is Butch Mac Donald and Travis Mac Donald. Butch Mac Donald and Travis Mac Donald also won the 2007 Parent/Child Team of the year. The 2007 Husband/Wife Team of the year is Don and Christine Trester. The 2007 Sibling Team of the Year is Joe Hackett and Dave Hackett.
