| Looking to pull more harnesses this summer, mainly on the bay. Instead of purchasing, would like to tie up some myself. The question I have is what are you guys using for line for the harness? I'm assuming fluorocarbon, but what manuf and size? Is it holding up to the clevises alright? Thanks in advance.

| I used Floro on GB last year and it worked great, 17lb Vanish I believe. |

Location: Green Bay, WI | If you are in the neighborhood, check out Tews Two on Saturday morning, the 22nd. Tommy Harris will be there with custom blades, Off-shore will be there to fix boards and the Randy Evans the rep from Vicious Fishing will be there with deals on both co-polymer and Fluorocarbon. We will be tying rigs. Last year we used 12, 15 and 17 pound Vicious Flouro and it did great. Little less diameter so the blades spun real easy.

| bbbb, From my experience using crawler harnesses on the bay, I have found that 17# vanish workes well. I would not use metal clevises, they will score your line and eventually break your harness... I had this happen to me about 10 times - 2 years ago before I figured it out. I will only use plastic, quick change clevises. I use my harnesses for a day and then cut them apart and start with new ones. I don't ice fish, so I spend a great deal of time next to the fireplace tieing harnesses all winter long. The other advantage I like using 17# Vanish is that the stiffness of the line prevents the harness from twisting into a knot when the crawler slips off the second hook and starts to spin. | I use 15# Seagar Flourocarbon. Been using it for about 6 years now.

| Question regarding the Vanish. I believe they make this in leader material and just regular line. For you guys using the Vanish which are you using?

| LAST YEAR I FOUND THIS NEW LINE CALL VICIOUS.BEEN USING 12# AND 15#
I LOVE THIS STUFF.FISH THE BAY.IT SEEM S TO HOLD UP BETTER THAN OTHER LINES I HAVE USED IN THE PAST.I PURCHASED ON LINE LAST YEAR.IMY BUDDY WENT TO A OPEN HOUSE FOR TEWS TOO IN OSHGOSH LAST WEEK END AND FOUND IT THERE.GOOD LUCK

| 17 or 20# vanish.....did away with click change clevis a few years ago after they "threw" one too many blades on me. Can't afford "dead" lines. |

| Jason, The only time I lose a blade on the quick change is on Sheaphead.... so you may be targeting the wrong fish..... PS |

| I was gonna say, I've only lost blades when bringing fish in, so I doubt Jayman is losing too many...(wink,wink)
Seriously though, I don't ever remember losing one on a quick change that wasn't because of a fish. I remember in a tournament last year, I spent all Friday afternoon driving over 100 miles to find the right willowleafs because I happened to lose two of them prefishing that morning, both on nice walleye. Look on the bright side, they are still way cheaper than cranks. |

Location: Appleton, WI | Has any one else ran into the problem with the quick change clevis burning or mabey just rubbing a bad spot on your line where it runs, the steel clevis dosent seem to do any damage to my line like the plastic dose? |

| Never had that happen, but I don't usually use my harnesses more than a couple days. I'll put used ones on prefishing, but for tourney days, I use new harnesses. Fishing for fun and meat, I'll use whatever I have that is working. All my harnesses have the quick change clevis. And I've only seem to lose blades on sheeps.
Cheaper than cranks, unless you gotta burn 100 miles of gas to get them!

| My memory ain't what it used to be, so when the rare occasion occurs and I get a fish on, it becomes really important for me to see what I was running so I can pattern the fish for next year.  |

| I just got my shipment of plastic, medium sized interchangeable clevises and blood red #2 octopus hooks in. You can see them on my site at www.winnebagofishing.com.
