Location: Potter, WI. | Don't know much about BT's of any brand. Just wondering if you can place a 9.9 kicker on the back of these boats? Are they designed for a kicker to be added? The reason I ask is look kind of weird back trolling on Michigan for salmon. Thanks for any input. |

| Sure, you could put a kicker on a BT. I think the guys running the Ranger 620T's put kickers on when they know they're going to be on a trolling bite. I never paid enough attention to them to see if they ever take them off or not.
BT is a bit of a misnomer, as far as I am concerned. Just easier to say that a "position fishing" boat. When I had my tiller Tuffy, I only had the motor in reverse when I was trying to hover over a spot. Never did I try to go backwards at a speed fast enough to actually troll. All my trolling is done in forward gear. |

Location: Menasha, WI | My brother has an 1890BT w/ 90hp. When trolling it's forward -- it gets down to a reasonable trolling speed pretty well w/o dragging any bags.
As Shep says, the backtrolling is more or less position fishing and/or for pulling live bait rigs very slowly into the wind. |
