I know there are some WFers fishing in the MWC this weekend. Just want to say good luck to all. Wish I was down there. I talked to Rich S. last night. Sounds like the bite is kind of tough down there. Hopefully him and Ryan can pull out a top ten, Rich is due for a really good finish down there.

GOOD LUCK!!

I talked to Rich also, and in the profoundest statement ever made by a tournament fisherman, he summed up their chances:

"If our fish bite, we'll do well."

Good luck and drop a duece baby.

We had a great time down there which was a huge relief after last year. The tournament went extremely smooth and the weigh-ins were as fast as I have ever seen. We were both scared going into this because of last year and we checked the river levels daily with our fingers crossed. The river was a bit high but I like the extra current, keeps the jiggers moving faster then the trollers and pullers.

The pre-fish bite was good as far as big fish went but we did not experience the raw numbers of big fish like I have in the past. Once the pressure is on top of them, we figured it would be tough to get a limit and it was...both days. Day 1 we only had one fish in the box at 11:30 and we had to be in by 3:00 and on day 2 we had zero fish in the box at 11:30 and we had to be in at 2:00. If every tournament was like that, I would have a heart attack.

A special thanks to John Mannerino. That guy is a true friend and they are hard to come by. Thanks John and all the rest of you that wished us luck. Hopefully one of these years we can break the top ten but I tell you, the competition is tough down there.
