Today is May 1 and the emergency slow no wake rules are still firmly in place and looks like they will be there through the weekend with rains that are predicted.

What's with the lack of fishing reports on this thread? Is it tight lips due to tournaments?

This is the first year in over 15 years that missed the spring run... thankfully for a good reason- sold the Yar-Craft and bought a Ranger. Itching to get out but with the lack of posts I am completely unconnected as to where the bulk of the fish are. Any advice out there?

thanks,
Mark

Brother Otis,

Good choice on the boats, hope you went with a merc or yammy though. My e-tec failed me last weekend in the MWS tournament for the 2nd time in two years. On the fishing side there are still a lot of walleyes to be caught in the wolf mostly milkers. If the weathers stabilizes and warms up look for the trolling bite to get good on the upper lakes, it was pretty good last week until the cold front came in. Winnebago is good, close to the mouth right now on the humps. Sunset point was giving up some decent fish also until the cold front last week on slip bobbers and leeches.

Good Luck and Report back if you get out

Wolf above Fremont has been good the past few days for male walleyes.
Nice thick fish.
Have been drifting w/jig crawler. Orange jigs have been working best. Have also been throwing shad raps to wood and working the slack water of the inside bends.

All Merc, all the time!

Thanks for the tips... I will play the wind a bit and see what I can scratch out. I will report if anything good transpires.
