I'm going to have to see you guys two weeks in a row?

I never got a chance to stop by and say Hi in Rathbun. I'll make sure that I do this weekend.

this is going to be an interesting weekend..  just wanted to mess up everyones minds a bit.. with the upcomming big event folks are tight lipped, also confussed .. the upper lakes have been good for a month now. BUT its a long run and throw a bunch of boats on these shallow spots and things can get a bit cramped quickly.. the mud is producing a few fish but not yet a true all out Mudfest by any standard it is tuff.. the water on the rocks is clear and hard to sneak up on the fish.  few large fish have been caught shallow  looks like the whole lake holds fish and the whole up river system .. with 4 days till tournament time it seems to be hard to learn anything..  and the whole system can change fast! i think it will be a scattered bite with fish taken everywhere  i dont think all the boats will be limmiting but i think there will also be some big big fish taken this year..  and some are going to bring in heavy baskets on day one.. but i think the field can revers on  day two and i think few at the top on day one can duplicate on day two..  but hey what do i know.. need some luck for this one  boys... im thinking 16lbs a day to get you in the hunt and a kicker fish each day to win.. my prediction for otterstreet ,,, you will have your hot mud bite and need killer weight and the mwc tourny the following week will be a big fish slaughter... but i think its a bit early for merc national of 08 to break records..

You are making the whole process way too complicated. Many of the guys have favorite techniques. Trollers will troll no matter what. Some like to work the rocks and weeds and will do same. A few are very versitile and will do what they feel is appropriate for the day. He who finds the most weight wins. Simple.
Good luck to all,
Jim O

Maybe Jim and Dave will have all kicker fish like they did last year! Good luck, Jim O. I'm pulling for you and Dave as a repeat, as well!

Bradley, I am sure you are one sexy piece of man meat no matter what color hat you are wearing. I would worry more about the storms on Fiday then the hat

Thanks for the good thoughts. Unfortunately, I have not been in a boat all year.
I had back surgery on March 15, 6 discs fused, partial laminectomy, scraping out arthritis in various locations and a pair of bars with 5 sets of screws.
I hope to get in a boat on very calm water sometime soon, but any real fishing willl hopefully be in the fall.
Good luck to all. Looking at the boat in the garage is a killer. Well, look at the money I am saving:)
My partner Dave caught a jinx with me. Two years ago I forgot to send in the form on time and now this.
Take care,
Jim O

Be safe out there today. It's gotta be brutal with these winds.

Jim,

Sorry to hear you are not able to defend your great win last year. But, if the pain goes away, then I'm happy for you. Hope to see you on the water sooner than later. Take care.

Almost glad I'm not in it this year. Gonna be a nasty day today, and things will be really stirred up. But somebody will be on fish. They always are. You think a judge would allow a name change to Somebody?
