In little less than an hour or so the first flight is due back to Stony Point Resort at 3pm sharp. WalleyeFirst is here in full force to bring you the most up to date news and information from the FLW Day 1 weigh-in. Stay tuned for daily image galleries, video, and Day 2 interviews with the pros. Member Posts: 142 | Could be worse. Here (Near Helena, MT) at 8 am, we had 33 degrees...w/ 25mph wind and snow on the ground. It was snowing so heavy you couldn't see 200yards. It has now improved. 39, rain and wind. Edited by T-Mac 6/11/2008 2:08 PM | ||

Member Posts: 1040 Location: Stevens Point, WI | If the pros had one word to describe Day 1 on Cass Lake for stop #3 on the FLW Walleye Tour it would be "nasty." Under absolutely brutal conditions for June, a majority of the pros didn't have too much of an issue catching fish, but what they did struggle with was boat control. Facing 25+mph winds, most who didn't bring a limit were being very picky and sorting fish early which in the end cost some a limit. Nothing was more difficult than what Chevy pro Tom Keenan had to do. Fishing what he called a "14 inch fish spot", Keenan boated his new personal best that measured 32 inches. Keenan already had his two overs and said that he had never been so close to crying over a fish. Keenan sits in seventh place with 13.63 lbs. The talk of the day was the Renners. Ranger pro Tony Renner captured the Day 1 lead with 16.88 lbs. Not far behind, Andy Renner holds down eighth place with 12.81 lbs. Mercury pro Pete Harsh remains a close second with 16.38 lbs, Carl Adams Jr. holds down third place with 15.50 lbs, Scott Steil fourth with 15.38 lbs and Reggie Thiel fifth with 14.88 lbs to round out the top five. Stay tuned for weigh-in video. Day 1 imagery: http://walleye.outdoorsfirst.com/leaderboard/llb.asp?t=746&view=ima...
