WHAT IS THE BEST USED WALLEYE BOAT? I AM IN THE MARKET FOR A WALLEYE BOAT BUT DON'T KNOW WHICH BRAND IS BEST AND HOLDS ITS VALUE. I HAVE BEEN LOOKING AT THE LUND PRO V 1900 IFS AND THE TRITON 186 AND 206 DV. DOES ANY ONE HAVE ANY INSIGHT? I CANT FIND MUCH INFO ABOUT THE TRITON ALUMINUM DV.

YOU WOULDN'T GO WRONG WITH THE LUND. THEY HOLD THEIR VALUE. THEIR'S PLENTY OF USED BOATS RIGHT HERE ON THIS WEB SITE. ALUMACRAFTS ARE GOOD BOATS ALSO. FIND ONE WITH A YAMAHA FOUR STROKE AND YOUR SET. ALSO, YOU COULD BUY A BRAND NEW G3 ANGLER 16'8'' WITH A 115 OR 150 H.P. FOR AROUND 25K. ALITTLE LESS WITH THE 115. I HAVE A G3 16'8'' WITH A 90 H.P. YAMMI AND LOVE IT. IT'S JUST A MATTER OF PERSONAL PREFERNCE. GOOD LUCK AND I HOPE YOU FIND WHAT YOUR LOOKING FOR.

Elliot for $5000 more you can have a brand new 08 Triton 202x. Check it out at www.proschoicemarine.com You will find it in the New inventory. I didnt believe the price was for real so I called them and according to the guy I talked to, $29900 is the out the door price. I have a 202 and feel it is as good a boat as there is out there. If you have any questions about the Triton feel free to contact me at [email protected]

Elliott,

The best used boat around is a 1850 Skeeter... I just happen to have one for sale right now that has everything you will ever need to catch Walleyes from Winnebago to Bay de Noc.

You can't go wrong with a Lund. I had four of them before I switched to Skeeter. Never had a problem with any of them. I would stay away from the aluminum Tritons that are pre 2008. My Dad had an 04 176 that had hull issues. Basically had to send it back and get a new one. I won't even get into the issues we had with their warranty department. I also had a good friend that had the same problem with his 04 176. He got a new 06 and had the exact same problem. The 08's should be fine though. They are pretty much a Crestliner with Triton decals on them. I believe I heard that Crestliner makes the aluminum boats for Triton now. The glass Tritons should be good though. Never heard of any problems with those. Good luck in your choice.

Lund is a great boat. check out fort freemont marine, he has a really nice used 1900 pro v with a 200 opti and 9.9 kicker. this would be a great "catch" for someone.

Mark O what kind of hull problems? Welds cracking? I have been looking at an 2006 186 DV Mag with 200 Optimax (30hrs). It seems like a nice boat and at a good price. I really like the Lund pro-v 1900 but don't like the prices for an aluminum hull. I just sold my 2001 Ranger and want something different.

The hulls cracked and caved in. My partner is on his third hull in three years. This new one is made by Crestliner and is a much better boat. I would not spend $10,000 on a used aluminum Triton.

Rich S is right. His partner is the buddy I referred to. I don't feel that my Dad really beat on his boat by any means. Just fished the usual stuff that Winnebago had to offer. Maybe the 186 is better. I can't say for sure. I'd hate to see you buy the boat and then have the problems my Dad did. It's not fun at all. IMHO I would not buy the boat. I have lost faith in those boats pre 2008. It's too bad, because I liked the layout of them alot. Maybe try fishing around some other walleye sites to see if you can find more owners of these boats. I'd hate to see you miss a chance at a good deal as well.

What do you guys think of the Crestliner T 202 and 192? I have seen several used 2004-2006 for around 25k.

I'm building a new house on the lake in Oshkosh on Butte des Morts on Sunset Point Lane... I'll be very busy for the next 2 years so I figured I won't be using my boat much.

Not sure what kind of boat I'll get next, I think I'll look for something that I can fish Butte Des Morts and maybe stay closer to my house on the lake.

Free Advertising.... I'm going to post and pay for a listing, I just ran out of time this week to get pictures and an ad together.
