Member Posts: 874 Location: Neenah, WI | We put a bridge out on New Years day. It's about a mile out from the clubhouse. We don't have trees yet for road markers but we're hoping to have some by next weekend. In our area and places we checked all the way to the East shore we found up to 20" of ice. Our landing is open. Memberships are $15.00 per year, $12.00 for seniors. Available at our clubhouse, Paynes Point Bar and the Vinland Still and Grill. Stop in at the clubhouse and visit. There are lots of clubs on the lake doing a great job to provide safe travel. Please do your part by supporting them. Our web site is up but not complete. We'll be putting reports on there and I'll try to keep you informed here. www.pphsfc.com Thanks. Dale Frank

Member Posts: 874 Location: Neenah, WI | We put our second bridge out. It's about 2 miles out and will take you over the east-west crack. From there it's clear sailing all the way to Oshkosh. The road is marked with a FEW trees from our first bridge by the clubhouse. About every 1/2 mile. We hope to have trees from the city by next weekend so we can lay out a road and mark it. Support your local club. Thanks

How long do you guys keep your bridges out. Do you pull them after spearing?

Member Posts: 874 Location: Neenah, WI | We leave our bridges out until conditions dictate their removal. Once spearing is over there's still lots of ice fishing opportunities. Yesterday we hooked up with Otter Street from our bridge 2 miles out. We connect with the Otter Street road at their 1 mile mark and that road goes all the way to Quinney. We had a flat tire on one of our plow trucks on the way in yesterday. Murphey's Law I guess. A chain cut the sidewall. Back to the clubhouse to get a floor jack and a fresh tire. Back out to change it in bitter cold and high winds at about 4:30. That's not exactly something you want to do everyday. We knew we needed new chains. We just waited a day too long. That sure can be a test of one's sense of humor!!!!

Member Posts: 874 Location: Neenah, WI | Thanks Viking, I just found out after work last night. With the warm weather and rain the shorelines should go to pot pretty fast. I also learned from our guys that Otter Street will be pulling their bridges on Sunday. Our bridge and plow crew did a great job this year and they deserve our thanks.
