AIM is successful

There are some great things happening with the AIM tournament. With all the conversations regarding AIM and the speculation of how it would be pulled off, I thought it would be constructive to give your likes and dislikes. I’m willing to bet that the organizers want to hear from us in a constructive way.

I love the GPS tracking feature. That is really cool. I’m assuming that it will only be used the final day?

I really like the “on the water” interviews and action. Watching the Co-angler in Tommy Skarlis’s boat catch the fish and seeing how they are working together to measure and take pictures was cool for me.

It’s neat to click on the names at the results page and see the fish registered and the lengths.

The interviews they have for the top fisherpeople are great.

I think they are doing the right thing with having the boats pull up at weigh in. IMHO, that was something I enjoyed seeing at championships and like seeing now.

A couple of suggestions:

Have the live video feed and results page together to we can see the live weigh in as we view results.

Add a picture of Pro with a fish on the list of lengths.

Make it a little easier to find the link to the live weigh-in.

I loose audio when they are showing the fish pictures. I’m sure this is a small glitch that will be fixed in the future.

Congrats to all in involved with AIM

The video feed link now is across the entire opening AIM page, BIG. The audio is probably an issue with your player, it's there for sure..Adobe Flash Player 10. The images on the list of fish is possible, eventually it'll be there. The feed is sent out in a specific window, so best is to open that window and the leader board window on one screen, or... GO DUAL MONITORS!!

I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The on the water updates and gps tracking was way cool.

I installed adobe 10 and still had issues with sound during the showing of pictures.

I'll check with the technical genius behind the webcast, we listened on on the Web on our end and the audio was there and was fine all the way through. Glad everyone enjoyed the event, it was really fun to see AIM get it all done!

There was lots of live video from the water. Of course, it's all archived now at www.aimfishing.com.

Thanks for all of the input guys. I'd like to thank Steve and Zach and crew for a tremendous result and all of the suggestions will be looked at carefully. Along with Dusty (Sour Squirrel studios) and our wonderful cameramen, we could not ask for a better group of guys to get the info to the public. THANKS GUYS! As far as an angler doing the MCing... that will stay. We will mix it up in the future with different pros, but no one knows the anglers like another angler and no one can break down the water as an MC like another angler. The PWT did this in Dryden Ontario and it was great, and we will continue doing it in the future. Thank you for all of the support and if you have interest in fishing as a Pro or Co, please let Scott Matheson know. Green Bay is next and from all of the anglers that I talked to we can hardly wait!!!

Thanks Rich!
Not only was the tournament a blast to fish with this format and the crew that put it on, but because it was on one of the best walleye waters at the best time of year, I had one of my most exciting tournament days ever on day two. Imagine river fish, vertically jigging that went like this... 22 incher, 22.50, 23.25, 24.0, 24.25, 27.75, and 28.0 inches... along with 30 to 40 other fish from 18 to 22 inches! Thanks to the anglers and sponsors that make AIM possible. Tournament fishing has never been so fun!

Didn't get to watch any of the live action, but did see lots of video, and read lots of comments. A resounding success for the inaugral AIM event, and congrats go out to all involved. The next event on Green Bay will prove this circuit is for real, and here to stay. I also like the angler MC aspect. Can't wait to see who is on deck!

Dennis, you have some great comments and suggestions. I'll try to make it to the GB event live, and view first hand if the photo's are as good as live fish. I suspect there will be some great weights, pics, and stories from that event!

That sounds like fun Fun enough to possibly get me there next year. Gotta love those jigs, I wonder if you got them on my favorite color?? Good luck at the GB event I am guessing you will have to burn a touch more gas in that one.
