Member Posts: 319 | Shep, The thread mentioned how the tournament as is - is broke, you are saying it is improving. If it is great. There is nothing wrong to say an orginization may need to adjust to improve...I was not trashing AIM. The issue is also generating more income so pros can make a better living is it not? The only way to effectivly do that is to get the a larger sector of the public to spend their money.

Ralph takes off from his job as an CBS producer in L.A. and flies back to put this on and does very well, and draws 10,000 people. Keep it up and remain tiny...doesn't affect anyone but those who fish the tournaments. RNT - I get it. Do you? Answer this: Why would a guy like Mr. Wiener want to skim $20k off the top of the festival profits to add to a tournament purse? You have already stated that tournaments are boring and do not draw people, so what makes you think an investor would even consider sharing? That makes no sense to me. If AIM is successful in the next few years, perhaps a group like that could take on such a HUGE task and risk a lot of money, but at this point in time, I doubt they can afford it. Are you planning on starting a festival of your own to make tens of thousands of dollars? Why not?

AIM would be the investor of the event. And funny that you should ask "Are you planning on starting a festival of your own to make tens of thousands of dollars?" because yes, I am...working on it this year for next year.

Location: Rhinelander | AIM is not likely to invest in an event, that's just backwards. I bet quite a few are interested in looking at adding an AIM event to their going's on, though.

Member Posts: 319 | It is not backwards, it just works. The promoters of events make a nice penny from putting them on.

you hit it right there vendors entertainment with country rock. the sponsors need to be right there to sell the winning product to the outdoorsmen & women kids. that money can be carried over plus alittle profit.

I doubt the right changes will be made to make the sport what everyone wants it to be.
