It's been discussed before im sure but not to length i would like to make my decision. What is a good spinning jig rod that cost up to about 120$'s. Mostly throwing 1/4oz not vertical at it. Also whats is the best lengths and actions if you cant give a specific rod.

If you're going to pitch jigs most of the time, length and an extra fast tip is the most important part. I have an Avid 69MLXF which is a little out of teh $120 price range, but you can get the 69MLXF in the St Croix Mojo (which I also have). The Mojo is a pretty nice rig as well. I pitch Blade baits with the mojo, and usually use the avids for jigs. However, the mojo does fine with jigs as well.

Pick one up and see how it feels, I bet you'll be surprised on the feel.

For pitchin' jigs, I prefer a 7' ML fast action rod (I use Fireline). My favorite stick for this is a Gander Mountain Pro Select. I have G Loomis & St Croix rods also - but the GM Pro Selects are a darn good rod and won't break the bank ! Good luck in Your search, C-man.

I totally agree with with above posts when it comes to length (7' plus) and action (fast action). As far as manufacturer(s) I went through the whole gambit and tried most. In this part of country St. Croix rules but in the last couple of years I have found out that for better value and price I will go with Shimano. Unfortunately, few around here know that Shimano makes great high end rods for good prices. At the top end, Cumara was voted 2008 Best Value Rod "Tackle Tour.com". The Shimano Cumara 7'2" Spinning Rod (CUS72M) is unbelievable but may be out of your price range at $240.00. At or around your $120 limit I would recommend the Crucial7'2" extra fast CRSX72M. You will not be disappointed with the very nice rod. Shimano makes great rods just like their great reels. You will not be disappointed.

Check out the Gander Tournament rods. I like 7 to 7 1/2 foot for pitching jigs and casting small cranks. Usually get reels with extra spools so I can switch between Mono and Fireline.
