Been mapping on Devils Lake, ND this summer. Just thought I'd post the Creel Bay. I've been doing it in 120 foot transect lines so it takes a long time and the weather hasn't been particularly helpful. The day I checked out Pelican bay, I only had about an inch clearance going under the CNTY 19 bridge. The next day they got 3 inches of rain, then a week later just NW of the lake got a real down pour so I've been locked out of Pelican, my main reason for coming up here.
The work is boring but I found a great way to collect data, would look to be a great way to troll. In open water I've been using a Minnkota trolling motor with the CoPilot running up front about half speed with the kicker in back just above an idle and the CoPilot does most of the steering.

Used the Humminbird 997 wired to the laptop so I could watch DrDepth in the boat while I collected the data. I used Global Mapper to create this image. The nice thing about the Humminbird 997 running side scan is it lets me see any thing I might be missing. I ran 120 foot spacing on the lines of travel.

Wanted to post examples for DrDepth that could be viewed larger, thanks guys.

I'm using the image is of military point from 1990 to demonstrate what to the guys on the DrDepth yahoo users group what you can do with your own mapping. Notice the point and the two break waters for a marina. Also note the small point just north of the group. I'll post images from the side scan of the two break waters of the marina later.
