There is no 'cost' to asking, but it's the law, and when the USCG feels it's appropriate and safe and testing proves it to be so(which may be never), they may change it. Believe me, the industry has asked.

Just get with modern times and make your boats wider like everyone else.

Guest 2. There may be a reason the boats are designed the way they are. I know for fact the 2060 with its 90 inch beam slices through the waves better then any boat I have been in. I have a 1700 osprey and the 1890 osprey. I'm not knocking either one because I love them both but I think the 2060 gives a smoother ride and one reason is it's slicing through waves better. Also we just got back from 2 days with the Tuffy get together and thats why Tuffy sets this up. They want to hear the good and bad from us about there product. Not what they think is good but the people that are fishing with them. I personally am glad Tuffy takes the time and money to hear from us the little people. I'm sure if the Coast guard would approve the higher rated tillers Tuffy would be on board also.

The 1890 is 97" wide.

The 2060 is 90" wide, and Trim It Up nailed it as to why.

So get with the folks who know what the 2060 will do, and learn why the 2060 has as much interior room or more than many boats that sport a 96" beam.
